“Stunning lake view, a treat for ferry enthusiasts.”
Amazing views over the lake from the lovely balcony. Comfortable apartment for a family of four. I enjoyed watching the ferries coming and going at the ferry dock below. My husband enjoyed the starlings sweeping over the buildings and the pool in the evenings. The kids enjoyed the smart TV, the pool, and swimming in the lake. We watched two enormous storms over the mountains including a squall which visibly moved in across the lake. Argegno is in an excellent location on the lake for ferries to other destinations (we visited Tremezzo and Bellagio and Como) and also with a regular bus service up the lakeside. There's also a cable car up the mountain to Pigra with a walk to a scenic viewpoint. Bars and restaurants in Argegno were excellent. They catered for all of us including my picky 11 year old. There are just two small grocery shops with the basics, which close 1200-1600, and a market with fresh food and cheese and meat on a Monday. The other apartments in the block were mostly empty and it felt at times like we were were the only people there. The children often had the pool to themselves completely and I could keep an eye on them from the balcony above. An amazing local taxi driver, Elena, took us to Como station at short notice on our last day, making our journey and transfer super easy.

First visit to the area, and now I can't imagine staying anywhere else! Breakfasts on the beautiful balcony with panoramic lake views, plenty of room for our family of 3, a pool (!), easy check-in, and private garage parking...all located within walking distance of the lovely center of Argegno. It is a bit of a climb, but still a fun activity in itself for our 3-year old. The town is perfect -- not crowded, several great restaurants, a ferry stop, boat rentals, and even a gondola up the mountain (although it was closed during our stay). Would definitely stay again!
