A truly charming hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. The entire property is beautifully maintained, creating a relaxing and welcoming environment. The room was spacious and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The only minor downside was the very poor lighting – in the evenings, even with all the lights on, the room was quite dark. The staff was very friendly - special thanks to the lady in the restaurant – her smile truly gave us energy for the entire day :) The location is also excellent, with the Plaza de Armas just a short walk away.

Beautiful building and courtyards

Great period property, lots of character. Good breakfast. Location is good, about 5 min walk to the monastery and 10 min to Plaza de Armas.

“Loved Our Stay”

Gorgeous old property in a fabulous location. Close to all the best restaurants and attractions in Arequipa. Our room was huge and super comfortable - it felt like a little sanctuary every time we came back "home". Breakfast was plentiful and the ladies in the kitchen were very lovely and helpful.

This was one of the best hotels I stayed on my trip to Perú, 100% recommended, they helped me with an early check-in, the breakfast and facilities are superior.

Casa de Melgar is a rambling old building full of character. I couldn’t imagine staying in a nicer setting in Arequipa. It is an easy walk to the Plaza de Armas. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They offered to prepare us breakfast for our 3am start on our last day. Breakfast is plentiful.

Room had a smelly drain and 1 bed was rock hard. We were swiftly moved to another room it was a double but it was a much nicer room. Breakfast staff were very friendly Reception staff were all nice

“Perfect for a few days in Arequipa”

Gorgeous interior and really large rooms with great bathrooms and hot water. The staff were lovely and the hotel felt very safe as there was always someone on the door to lock and unlock. The location was perfect for being walkable to all of Arequipa’s main attractions.
