The hosts were super nice, personal and caring. As we were leaving she even came outside to check if we got in the taxi okay.

I loved the vibe as soon as I walked in. Plants, comfy seating area outside, plenty of space and probably the best equipped kitchen I have seen. The owners are so easy to talk to and ready to help you. Close enough to the bus station to carry a backpack.

Chamo & Anita are very friendly and helpful. The place is nicely decorated, mostly by Anita’s paintings. The kitchen is good

Champ’s property is lovely, with comfortable, good sized rooms and a big terrace to hang out on. The kitchen is fully equipped and a good size, and filtered water is available. Chamo and his wife Anita are the best hosts I have experienced in several years of travelling. My friend got very sick during our stay and they were incredibly helpful and kind to us. I highly recommend staying here, the location is slightly out of town however we preferred that as it was in a more peaceful, residential area. Thank you Chamo & Anita!!

“Absolutly lovely to stay there”

Perfect stay, you walk trough the door and you feel welcome, it‘s cozy and the owners are openhearted. It‘s a bit outside the center (20‘ walk), but the way to the center is nice (lot‘s of shops and people). We would definetly stay there again and can recommend it to everyone who plans to stay in arequipa.

Great chilled out place. Kitchen. Nice commen area. Fresh food market and really good tiendas nearby. Very popular with travellers who don't want to be in the centre. Though close enough to walk to if you want the action. Owners are fantastic people who will assist in every way, without expectations.

“Amazing stay with wonderful hosts in Arequipa!”

La Casa de Chamo is a very home-feel vibe, very colourful and cozy. Anita and Chamo are the best hosts ever! They’re super warm people and immediately make you feel like home. They even went with me to the hospital and took care of me as family. The rooms are very cute and have everything you need (way more details than you find in other places)! It’s a little bit outside of the centre but it’s walking distance and there are lots of buses.

“Lovely welcoming hosts”

Chamo and Anita were so kind and hospitable and always offered us teas and food. I had some health issues during my stay and they were really helpful in finding me a doctor and Chamo even brought me a special drink to help my symptoms. I can’t recommend the hostel enough, the rooms are really comfortable and the kitchen is small but well stocked with everything you need. The hostel is filled with Anita’s lovely vibrant paintings- we really felt at home.

The best place we stayed in all of Peru. The hosts were unbelievably welcoming and made us feel completely at home. The property was wonderfully clean throughout with good facilities and beautiful decoration.

Loved my stay here. The kindest most welcoming hosts I have ever experienced in a hostel! Very helpful with everything I needed, such as leaving my bags overnight when I went to Colca Canyon. Lovely rooms. Would highly recommend!

“Perfect to have a calm stay”

Chamo and Anitha are very kind and helpfull. The room is clean and the bed is really confortable. We feel at home in their house. The kitchen is well equipped.

“A lovely family run hostel ideal for long and/or short-term guests.”

Chamo and his wife, Anita, were wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived (early), to the moment we left. Frequently they offered us cups of tea and snacks! The hostel was a little distance from the historical central plaza, about 30 minutes walk, but there were nearby, frequent buses for 1 sol each way. Being away from the centre ensured the hostel was mainly quiet. Nearby was a good sized market for fruit, veg, meat etc and a large supermarket just 15 minutes walk away. There was excellent Internet connection throughout. Laundry service was provided at a low price. The hostel had a lovely open (covered) roof terrace where the kitchen and eating areas were located. The kitchen was basic, just a 4 ring gas hob, but plenty of pots and pans for cooking. There was also a fridge/freezer for storing food. Although down to the guests to keep clean, the owners ensured it was never messy. Our room was a good size with storage shelves. The bed was comfortable and had 1 bedside lamp. The bathroom size was adequate, and the shower was hot in the afternoon and evening (not so warm in the morning, due to it being heated by the sun).

We booked a room with private bathroom and stayed in total 4 nights. The room was clean and we were able to take hot showers. There’s also a nice shared area (terrace) were you can relax and watch the humming birds :) Chamo and Anita were super friendly and welcoming, that’s also why we ended up coming back to their place for the second time :)) they really go the extra mile to make you feel at home. We’re really thankful for the great time we spent there and miss that welcoming atmosphere! Thank you so much Chamo and Anita 🤍

Great cooking facilities and spacious room.The owners are very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.

Chamo's place was definitely our most favourite place on our whole trip. It felt like our home away from home. Mostly because the hosts (Chamo and Anita) were so lovely and kind. They helped us with organising transport and gave us lots of tips. We enjoyed our conversations together and practiced our Spanish. We even went together tot the market place to have a lovely lunch. The place has everything you need: clean and well-priced rooms, a proper kitchen, a nice and sociable communal space, hot showers, etc. Dear Anita and Chamo, thank you so much for the warm welcome!
