“Incredible”

It had been a long time since I felt at home. Whenever I stay in accommodations, I feel like I'm in a "commercial" place. This guesthouse smells like "home", everything is very well looked after, clean and organized. There is no smell of generic chemical products used in cleaning, instead there is a clean house smell. I loved being here

We arrived late and our host met us at the bus! The room with balcony was superb. Sadly when we wanted a third night we had to move to another rom, but it was very clean and comfortable. Just across the road from the bus stop. Very centrally located.

Very good advance information was provided about where to park and how to get the access key. The whole area is amazingly beautiful. The apartment has everything one can hope for, fitted into a snug space with wonderful inventiveness. The fan is a thoughtful addition to an increasingly warm world.

“Great value and wonderful location in the heart of Arenas de Cabreles”

No breakfast but many options nearby. Easy walking distance from the bus stop if you have a lot of luggage. Good base for hiking in the Picos, as there are buses that go everywhere you will need -- Poncebos, Sotres, Cangas de Onis. I took the Renfe train from Madrid to Oviedo, the Alsa bus from Oviedo with a simple and straightforward bus transfer in Cangas de Onis, and was dropped off less than 50 meters from this hotel to start my hiking trip.

Situated in a delightful old stone building one minute’s walk from the main square, our homely apartment was furnished with a mix of old and new, plus a little kitchen that had all the essentials i.e. a cooker and proper stove-top coffee maker! The balcony has two chairs and table, with great views of the mountains and is a great place to sit out before the summer heat arrives. Our hostess was charming, always helpful and happy to chat. She will direct you to your own parking space in a garden next to her garage - very helpful as these old Spanish towns are not great for parking! You are situated right on the edge of the small central square with its restaurants, bakery & shops … you really have all you need on the doorstep. Arenas is a great little town, the perfect base for all the main scenic wonders of this part of the Picos.

The host she was very warm and welcoming although neither of us could speak each one’s language! The property was cleaned to a very high standard. Neat and tidy. Regular bus service to Poncebos to access Cares Gorge or to travel on the funicular. Good range of restaurants and bars in the area along with shops for local delicacies.

We had a lovely stay....could not have been better ! Thanks again !

Comfortable little apartment in lovely old house in a back street. Everything necessary for a short stay. Large , quiet and sheltered sunny verandah with mountain views. Friendly owner. Private parking ( although rather difficult to get into this in a large car).
