“Amazing location, surrounded by stunning scenery in the French Alos”
Beautiful location on the hairpin bends above Areches, surrounded by stunning scenery (see 2nd and 4th photos below). The Tour de France 2025 actually cycled past this gite! You can drive (carefully) up to the Col de Pré and to Lac Roselend, ever popular with cyclists. We loved the views from Pierra Menta Restaurant, where we enjoyed traditional Tartiflette. The apartment is compact, with 2 double bedrooms (comfortable mattresses) and 2 modern bathrooms. The small patio catches the evening sunshine. The owner is friendly & helpful. There’s plenty to explore. We adored walking up to Boudin, ancient hillside hamlet, nearby (see 1st & 3rd photos below). Areches itself is set up for the winter skiing season, but it’s smaller and more attractive than other ski resorts. We ate at Chez Lily, lovely friendly staff. There’s a Boulangerie (in fact 2, but 1 closed in Sept). Le Bersend is worth a visit if you like small, rural hamlets (close to Beaufort). Had a great day walking from Les Chapieux, took the mini bus up into the hills.

“Great stay with everything you need.”
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location to visit everywhere we wanted and close to the village. It was nice and quiet. The apartment was well equipped with two lovely bathrooms. Communication from the owner was brilliant.
