“Cosy and quiet place, properly relaxing accomodation. Would definitely return to stay again.”

This is a simple but charming cottage. The location was exactly what we expected: views, quiet, greenery, friendly cat visiting, monstera deliciosa and maracuja fruit in the garden, relaxing surroundings. There is reasonably easy acces to the beach via banana fields or steps just next to the property. The beach is stony and swimming is possible when sea is quiet (use watershoes). Regarding facilities -you will find the most of what you need, some salt, sugar, coffee capsules, washing machine, iron, bbq, soap, basic cleaning products. Bedroom window with mosquito net so you can sleep comfortably with window opened. We liked the hammock, the bbq, eating outside, extra blankets, sunsets on upper terrace. We were welcomed by very friendly hosts, provided all info and advice. The nearest supermarket PingoDoce just a few minutes by car in Calheta. This was our 3rd visit to Madeira, we spent 2 weeks in the cottage and overall this was a great choice.

“Perfect private place to relax”

Things that we enjoyed the most during our stay was privacy, sunset views, possibility to cook food inside and outside on the coils, and a beautiful bedroom with bathroom.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chalet Tropical. It's the perfect place for anyone seeking peace and relaxation. The garden has a wonderful view of the sea, and in the evenings, you can fall asleep listening to the waves and the animals. We would love to come again.

“Romantic getaway”

The house is ideal for a romantic getaway, the view is amazing, the garden is stunning and you have every needed amenity in the house.

The chalet is built on a slope overlooking the ocean. There is a lot of greenery around, grow banana trees. On a sunny mornings and warm evenings lizards keep company. The house interior on the first floor looks like authentic local village house, while second floor is more modern studio. Ocean is located only several minutes walk but the beach is not very friendly for swimmers because the shore has lots of boulders.

“Nature, ocean and relaxation”

The cottage is located in a wonderful area. It gives a sense of isolation and promotes relaxation. Within 5 minutes you can go down to the pebbly beach to take a swim. You can also go for a short walk along the nearby cliffs. The house has everything you need. It is comfortable, clean and nice. A small garden allows you to relax. The host is very nice and helpful.

Me and my boyfriend spent a total of 6 days in the Tropical Chalet. We could have stayed there for at least another month. The place's absolutely lovely. Basically it's straight among banana trees and other beautiful tropical plants and flowers. There're very few other houses in the neighborhood and the closest main street's very quiet making the whole area very peaceful. The backyard has a great view over the ocean and the surrounding banana trees. Also, the hammock's a nice touch to the whole experience. The balcony on the first floor's anotheru lovely space and the house itself is functional though not particularly luxurious or equipped. The only thing tricky is maybe the fact that the street to get to the house's very steep and narrow (some taxis refuse to drive down there). The suggestion is to get a car or even better a motorbike. By foot it's nice to walk down to the beach or through the levadas that go along the coastline. Though mind that it's a very long and steep way to get to the nearest supermarket, bar or shop. This is another reason why having a car/motorbike is highly advisable. Overall, a very nice and recommended accommodation for ocean-loving couples/singles seeking a place to enjoy nature and tranquility.
