Our five‑day stay at Casa Lira was honestly 20/10 — the perfect family home and one of the best villas we’ve ever stayed in. We travelled with three generations, and every single one of us loved it. The house is designed for families, comfort, and proper relaxation. It has absolutely everything you need and more. From the moment we arrived, Fatima set the tone. She is genuinely the best host. The welcome basket and gifts were incredible — so generous that we didn’t even finish all the goodies, and we didn’t need lunch on the first day ! She also kindly arranged for the villa to be ready before check‑in, which made such a difference after travelling with kids and older family members. Fatima truly thinks of everything. The villa itself is exceptional, so clean and just well put together So many amenities, whatever you need, you will likely find it at Casa Lira and more towels than we could ever use ,bath towels, swim towels, all clean and so soft. The two kitchens were brilliantly equipped, but the outdoor kitchen became the heart of our stay. We ate all our meals out there, spent long evenings chatting, and watched the most beautiful sunsets. There are so many different areas to relax but we didn’t even manage to use half of them. Every corner is thoughtfully designed. The pool was perfectly warm, we were in it every single day and pretty much all day! The BBQ facilities are phenomenal and made cooking so fun and so easy Casa Lira gave us the perfect family holiday. It’s rare to find a place where children, parents, and grandparents are all equally happy, but this villa delivered that and more. We made so many memories, and we felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. We will definitely be returning to this paradise. This is a very special place, and we’re already talking about our next trip!

“An unforgettable stay!”

Casa Lira is a spectacular place! I recommend it 1000 percent. A wonderful high standard villa, perfectly equipped, with breathtaking views, and spotlessly clean. We felt at home there. There are things to do there for all kinds of weather, for example, you have the pool, the swing, all kinds of outdoor furniture for when it's nice and sunny, and then you have the billiards table, smart TVs, and some board games for when it's stormy. There is an outdoor kitchen that can be closed or open depending on the weather, but it has absolutely amazing views regardless of the weather, and the sunsets from there are just... WOW! The owner, Fatima, is a wonderful person: helpful, kind, and hospitable. Communication was excellent from the very beginning (even before we arrived!) to the very end. Thank you, Fatima, for making our time in Madeira unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

“Thoroughly enjoyable!”

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Lira. What made it so exceptional was the care and attention of the host, Fatima. We really appreciated all the treats she left and the fact that she checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The villa is outstanding and not too far from Calheta by car, where there are many nice restaurants to choose from. The cooking facilities are also great in the villa and there is every appliance that you would ever need. We loved exploring Madeira but a week was not long enough to see everything that we wanted to see. We would love to return one day.

Heated swimming pool, very clean and peaseful house. Host Fatima was so friendly, kind and helpfull, she make sure, we have everything we need ang give us good advices about local activities and must-seeings. Casa Lira is just amazing place, we could not ask anything more. Everything you need is there. We make pizzas and regional espetadas in real fire and there is all kind of kitchen tools. There is two Supermarket near by, and allso few good restaurants, if you want to go to dinner. Everything was just perfekti, thank you Fatima!

“Peaceful little paradise.”

What a wonderful holiday home, truly a little paradise. We had everything we needed and more. We spent most of our time in the barbecue kitchen with amazing ocean views over the pool as well as lovely sunsets. What puts this property over the top is the wonderful hostess, Fatima. She often checked in to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. She made us feel welcome and well cared for. She left little treats throughout the home. She truly loves her guests and ensures they have an amazing experience. We hope to be back some day.

This place and its host Fatima are out of this world. There is everything you could ask for and more. Pictures cannot really describe it. It felt freshly renovated and we loved everything about it. Our kids (2 boys: 9 & 12) did not want to leave.

Fatima is an incredible host and couldn't have been kinder or more thoughtful for the full stay. We felt very looked after and the treats when we arrived were such a lovely touch! Great villa and even though it rained for pretty much the entire week we were there (meaning we couldn't really use the pool), we had a brilliant time! Wonderful hosts, wonderful property!

The hostess is awesome and caring person. This was our second visit in 2 years and it is hands off one of the best accomodations that I have ever visited

“Family stay at Casa Lira”

Our stay at Casa Lira will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives. We felt like in paradise in this house. Fatima is a wonderful person, she took care of us with all her heart. To welcome her, she prepared a delicious dinner and gave us lovely and tasty gifts. The kids were happy, and so were we the adults. The villa was equipped with everything, we lacked nothing, it was very spacious, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. Billiards, heated swimming pool, pizza oven... We already want to go back there.

I have never in my life seen my children so overwhelmed as when we arrived at Casa Lira. The look of their faces was like they had arrived in paradise, and in a way that was true😊 Fatima is one of the most loving people I have ever met and she pours all of her heart in making her guest have a wonderful stay. And she truly succeeds. We feel so lucky and treated that we had the opportunity to experience this. Everything was PERFECT AND THEN SOME.

“perfect sunset villa to enjoy Madeira”

The property is fantastic. It really made for an excellent holiday. Lots of space for a family with 2 teenagers (and 4 bathrooms). The outdoor pool, sun deck and kitchen are perfectly set up for spending the days in the sun. The pool table, bar and balcony upstairs are great for hanging out in, in the evening. The house is high on the hill so the views are spectacular and perfect for watching the sunset over the sea. The 2 kitchens (yes 2!) are very well equipped, everything needed to make meals. There is a built in BBQ/pizza oven in the poolside kitchen, all stocked with wood. The living room has a generous sofa and TV (with apps). The poolside kitchen has a large TV with apps also. There is 2 WiFi routers to cover the house, no issues with bandwidth. The bedrooms are well decorated and beds were very comfy. lots of pillows to choice from also. Fatima (host) was brilliant, so welcoming and communicative. She met us at the house on entry. She had generously stocked the house with welcome goodies. Any questions we had she answered immediately. Down the hill and around the corner is a pizzeria, cafe/bar and a couple of shops. A couple of miles away is Calheta, which has a marina/promenade with several restaurants/bars and a large supermarket. Also beaches for swimming in the sea. To get the best out of Madeira you need a rental car. This certainly works out best for enjoying the house also. We spent the week exploring the island, visiting natural swimming pools, waterfalls and rain forests. We went canyoning and fly fishing for trout. The restaurants were very good and never had a bad meal. One if the best Holidays we had as a family.
