“Great place for a long vacation in Rhodes”

Very friendly and helpful host. He gave us detailed practical insructions on what to discover in Rhodes. Great central location in Rhodes to reach the best beaches and towns. The appartement and the entire house has a nice atmosphere with stylish Greek decoration. Nice view from the windows. Efficient air-conditioning. The appartement was spacious, the beds were really comfortable. The host helped us in advance with renting a car.

It full filled our expectations. Very advantage position for trips to whole Rhodos, not far from Rhodos city but not overfilled with tourismus. The nearist beach - Stegna is very nice. House owners, Vasilis and his wife, are very lovely and friendly people! We would like to return.

We had to escape Rhodes due to the fires, which were at the point of our stay, people were evacuted a mere 12km away from Archangelos and we were still sufferingf from the burning heat. The smog and heavy winds made it impossible to get outside the apartment, and we had experienced at least three power outages a day. We had to lie naked on the floor and cover ourselves with wet towels. Also, we had to go to the toilet with the door opened because it was pitch black. It was even impossible ot sleep at night as it was so hot and there was an infinite amount of mosquitoes who got into the apartment even though there were supposedly nets installed. When we told the owner of the property we felt unsafe he first exclaimed that "we are safe here" even though the land was bone dry and it seemed like it was only a matter of time until a tradegy would befall. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/greece-wildfires-rhodes-corfu-latest-news-b2381227.html - we decided to fly to Israel, instead of going straight away to Prague as it is our premarital honeymoon and we wanted to salvage what we could out of the situation. When I asked the owner of the property for some kind of money compensation or money return he said he couldn't do a thing and that I should discuss the matter with booking.com. Mind you, no one had warned us about the fires. Not the airline company, not the car rental company (which we had also booked through booking.com and I will also file a complaint against) and neither had the owner of the property who still claims to have a rating of 9.9 on booking.com. To add insult to injury, we had to beg him for a futon for my fiancee who has a medical condition (which we had asked in advance) only to recieve a winter blanket which we slept with on the floor. Also, we had almost no cooking utensils, nor soap, nor kettle.Writing this I am reminded of the trauma and wish I had never gone to Rhodes.
