Overview
Surrounded by the Dolomites, Hotel Al Forte is partly an ex-fortress from the times of the First World War. It offers a 180-m² wellness centre, and is ideal for exploring the Dolomites, whatever the season. Rooms are decorated in traditional Alpine style and feature light-wood furnishings and either carpeted or parquet floors. Facilities here include an LCD satellite TV and most overlook the Dolomites. There is free Wi-Fi in the main building, and chalets set in a separate building 2 km away are also available. The wellness centre comes with a sauna, hot tub and Turkish bath. It also includes a Tepidarium, Kneipp hydrotherapy and a fitness room. The hotel offers ski storage. The à la carte restaurant serves local specialities and classic Italian cuisine. The wine cellar features over 200 labels and all the delicious desserts are homemade. The half-board option features a wide selection of 5 menus. Breakfast is buffet style. Located 3 km from Arabba, Al Forte is great for hiking and cycling excursions during summer. In winter, it is in the heart of the Dolomiti Superski area. The 2 private ski buses take you to the ski slopes in just 3 minutes. The hotel offers at extra cost a charging station for electric or hybrid cars and e-bikes.

“A great hotel for a great skiing vacation”
This hotel is great. It’s a fascinating conversion of an old fortress. It’s beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff makes you feel welcome; they’re very professional and friendly. The food exceeded expectations—I’d especially recommend the dinners. The hotel is a few minutes’ drive from Arabba and the ski slopes, but the hotel taxi runs to and from Arabba.

“Beautiful winter retreat”

“Lovely.”
Plenty of space in the room. Good menu in the restaurant and the waitresses were great and looked after us really well. Breakfast was a buffet and just fine. This is a lovely family run hotel and I can highly recommend it. The only downsize is that it is about 3-4 km from Arabba so there is not much else around if you don't have vehicle.

“Great location, experience and value”
The staff working at the property were very attentive, professional, friendly, and quick to resolve any questions/queries/issues we had. Location is ideal for all the summer hiking we wanted to be doing, and the spa facilities on site were very good! Lovely to be able to have breakfast outside with a nice view, and wifi was very good!

“5 star review”
Dinner service was spectacular, from the staff to food. Staff was welcoming and nice, always there if we had any questions. Adding that we were never left hungry after dinner or breakfast. And Christmas dinner? Just simply amazing from every angle. And I will never forget how accomodating they were when we asked for one last shuttle to the slopes, even if we have already checked out and they weren't offering it that day. They did it without hestitation. Thank you all for amazing Italian hospitality in the hearth of Dolomites And a friendly reminder for future guests is to bring your own bathroom robes and definetely some slippers for sauna and just walking from room to restaurant. Pictures down below shows you how amazing the food is.

We had a really nice and comfortable stay in Hotel Al Forte. The room was very clean and had everything we needed (big bed, small refrigerator, bathroom with hairdryer, TV and even balcony). The restaurant had amazing staff, various options for breakfast and great dinners. Lots and lost of food with many different options. The hotel was very close to a small town called Arabba where you can buy freshly made sandwiches for hiking (in Despar). We were close to most of the hiking trails and were very happy with our stay. Highly reccommend!

The hotel is extremely welcoming, combining original fortress architecture with a modern extension. The design of the hotel is very sensitive to every detail. The staff is very helpful, attentive to the needs of the guests. In addition to the very pleasant wellness center, I would also appreciate the friendliness of the restaurant and the quality of the food. We have been to the hotel for the second time and would be happy to return again.

“Excellent hotel”
The service in the hotel is perfect. Although it is not on the ski slopes, they have a very regular shuttle that drives you to and from the lift, so it does not affect in any way the ski experience.
