“A nice place to stay”

The hotel is above a restaurant, about 7-8 minutes walk from the museum and within 10 minutes to the basilica. There is a bus stop close to the museum, from where one could take a bus from and to the train station. The hotel room is spacious and clean, and the complimentary breakfast, though simple, is good.

Located 15 minutes drive from the sea, with several rooms upstairs and a bar downstairs. The bar is buzzing with local life from morning till night, but the busy staff are trying to be nice and helpful. Just keep in mind this is Italy :) There is also a restaurant serving pizza and local food. Quiet and peaceful area with free parking in the central square behind the hotel (except Tuesdays!). Spacious room as well as bathroom, equipped with fridge, hairdryer, safe and other amenities. The WiFi works well, as does the air conditioning. Typical Italian breakfast, with delicious coffee, of course.

Location is excellent, staff is great, friendly and hospitable. Nice restaurant at the property, fantastic food and very good wine. For every recimmendation.

Right in the main square, quiet and comfortable. They offered us breakfast even is it was not included in the reservation fee. Good restaurant too, same owners as I Patriarchi and the bar near the Basilica.

“Extremely nice owner and light room”

The owner was an extremely nice and polite person and nothing seemed to be a problem for him. I arrived at 9 a.m. and they already had the room available for me. I would have been perfectly content to just leave my luggage there, but the owner insisted I could check in. The room was clean, spacious, light, and quiet, with an air-conditioner and an ample enough bathroom. The hotel is right opposite the municipal house, so I also had a nice view from my windows. They also stored my luggage long after check-out, which helped me a lot. I highly recommend this hotel, I would definitely come back!

“Exceptional hospitality in an exceptional destination.”

Aquila Nera was a perfect place to stay when visiting Aquileia. The staff was welcoming, the bed was extremely comfortable, the room was well lit both from daylight and from electric lights, coffee pods were replenished, as was bottled water, the shower had plenty of hot water and very nice towels...I could go on, but trust that these accolades sufficiently communicate my complete satisfaction with the hotel. To cap it off, the young man (whose name I'm sorry to say I do not know) offered to drive me to the train station for my return to the airport. This saved my having to find my way from the bus station. And the location of the hotel is perfect for visiting the cathedral, the archaeological museum, and the archaeological sites. Aquileia is a wonderful place to visit and Aquila Nera is the perfect hotel to make the visit memorable.
