This is an excellent place to stay. On a hill overlooking Appenzell. Quiet with lovely views. Friendly supportive staff, willing to go the extra mile for your comfort. Very useful information provided about the area, excursions and other places to eat.

“A Gem in Appenzell”

Our stay at the Panorama hotel was excellent! Robert and Barbara are very attentive and did everything possible to make our stay with them very comfortable, happy and memorable . Our room no 16 was lovely ! Large, very airy and the furniture was painted in the alpine tradition. The toilet was large had two sinks and a very good flow of water. The balcony had an amazing view and was a relaxing place to unwind after a day of hiking. The food is 5* I had the herb pork and the schnitzel with the best ever salad with so many varieties of veg! The breakfast too is a fantastic spread of different varieties of bread, cereals, cold meats, eggs cheese etc.. Etc.. The view from the patio where we sat to have our meals was simply breathtaking! I have no doubt the location of this guesthouse is the best in Appenzell! Robert goes that extra mile to give his guests a ride to the station/town and back if needed.

The owner assisted us a lot during our stay. The property is renovated and room is spacious..hot water n heating are working very well. The view from the balcon is very lovely.

A fantastic stay, with kind and helpful hosts and a lovely, comfortable and spotless room. The views from the terrace out over Appenzell and the region are great, and the breakfast (included in the piece for my stay) was plentiful and fresh. All in all a very good stay.

So pleased we chose to stay there, the owners and staff were lovely. The food was delicious and generous portions. We had a balcony room with amazing views of Appenzell and surrounding countryside. The bed was the comfiest in our 5 week tour of Switzerland. We travel to Switzerland every year from Australia and will definitely stay there again.

“Incredible hotel and staff”

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We loved it so much! The room and view were amazing, bed comfortable and the staff were so lovely and gave us good tips for what to do! Easy to park, beautiful walks around the hotel and it had such a beautiful outdoor area for breakfast and dinner. We wish we could have stayed longer. 10/10 from us!

It was a traditional "old-school" room. Simple, no nonsense. The chef owner of the hotel made us feel very special. He even served breakfast personally.
