Situated just one street away from the Great Ocean Road, this environmentally-friendly hostel features a rooftop terrace, 2 self-catering communal kitchens, BBQ facilities and an organic herb garden. YHA Apollo Bay Eco Hostel is a 2-minute walk from restaurants and cafes in Apollo Bay town centre. It is a 45-minute drive to Cape Otway Lighthouse and a 90-minute drive to the Twelve Apostles. Guests have access to shared dining areas, communal living areas and recently refurbished bathrooms. Free on-site parking is provided. A variety of accommodation is available, all offer shared bathroom facilities, heating, individual lockers (in shared rooms) and bed lights. Apollo Bay coach terminal is just 200 metres away.

“Lack of hot water did spoil my stay here.”
No hot water for shower 2 days running. Luke warm at best then ran cold on and off while showering. Waited at start 3-4 minutes to see if hot water would come but not to be. For a town with limited water and water restrictions having to waste so much for hot to come needs some looking into for sustainability and costs.

We had a very pleasant stay at YHA Apollo Bay. The location is great, just a short walk from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The hostel was clean, well-maintained, and had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We especially appreciated the layout of the spaces, with cozy and inviting common areas well separated from the sleeping areas. The whole place was filled with natural light, thanks to the large windows that bring the surrounding nature inside. The staff were attentive and welcoming, making everything easy during our stay. Overall, a great option for a comfortable and affordable stay along the Great Ocean Road. We would happily stay here again.

“Outdoor escape”
Nice place to stay. Comfy beds and quiet. Near the beach and key shops and restaurants of Apollo bay. Large common spaces including a lounge, tv room, study area. Overlooking nice woodlands.
