“Perfect hotel for a short trip to Anuradhapura”

The hotel was very central but also very quiet. The rooms are very clean and the personal was very friendly.

Lovely welcome, We enjoyed the communal area on the top floor, although if other guests were smoking up there, there wasn't really anywhere else to go! The owner was very generous, and took us to the train station to sort out a problem with our tickets.

Everything was super clean and well maintained. The owner is incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful — especially with planning and organizing tuk-tuks and transport. The food was really good as well. We felt very comfortable here and would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was in a great place, on a quiet road. Walking distance to the lake and shops also a cool gym. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and bed comfy. Aircon and fan working well. Great facilities, we utilised the rooftop terrace one evening which was sheltered as it was raining. One note, we didn’t eat dinner at the hotel which I regret as it looked UNBELIEVABLE!

Perfect for a 2 night stay. Cool and quiet in a bustling hot city - loved sitting on the upstairs veranda for breakfast and with a cold beer at the end of the day. Very accommodating staff.

Very nice staff that arranged everything! We went on safari and to the ancient city- everything perfectly arranged through the hotel. The staff was helpful and both the breakfast and dinner were delicious and freshly prepared by the staff!

The Why Not Palace is a good value Hotel (Homestay). We had dinner one night in the hotel and the the traditional Sri Lankan food was excellent.

Lovely hosts who really want to take care of their guests. Spotlessly clean rooms with excellent AC and comfortable beds. Bedlinen was crisp and fresh. We travel budget , which this is, but this was the first bathroom of our holiday that I actually wanted to use. It had hot water, a short curtain and a slightly sloping shower towards the drain. So no flooded floor! Breakfast was also very good. All a joy since it was also on a very quiet street giving an excellent nights sleep.

The house is lovely in a quit location but with an easy reach to town. The breakfast at the terrace are absolutely amazing. Host is kind and helpful.

Staff were exceptionally attentive. Breakfasts were delicious; on our 3rd day we were asked if we would like the sri lankan breakfast- it was great, thank you. Room was very comfortable. Reception area was very pleasant. We did a lot of walking around the ancient city.
