I stayed here for 2 nights. Really friendly family and extra helpful, especially with my bus problem. The location is 1 minute from the main street, with plenty of nice restaurants. It's located on a very quiet back street next to a large nice lake. I definitely recommend Sunhill Lake Tourist Rest.

The room and bathroom were both big. The hallway has a couple of seats to sit, as well as some outdoor seats at the front. Everything is clean, the A/C is efficient and the bed comfortable. There’s somewhere to pop your case on. The owners are extremely helpful and kind. They make tea and coffee for you. Plus, on the day I left, I wanted to catch the A/C bus (coach really) to Negombo and the gentleman very kindly ran me in his tuk tuk to show me where the bus stop is and stayed with me to see I got on the correct bus. How kind is that. The location is by the side of a lake, the bird life and the lake make an interesting walk. If you walk anticlockwise around the lake for about 5-10 mins you come to a place with tables by the lake advertising drinks for sale. The food there (it’s not immediately obvious that they sell food) is really good. I’d highly recommend eating here.

The owners keep it very clean and neat. If you want to go to the Wilpattu national park. Let them arrange it, you won’t get it cheaper anywhere else.

Perfect location – right next to the bus station yet absolutely no traffic noise at night! The whole host family is incredibly friendly and welcoming!

Clean big room, perfect location close to shops and restaurants. Run by the loveliest family, who were always there to help. They also organised a safari for us which was amazing we saw so many animals and had a knowledgeable guide who new his stuff.

Our stay at Sunhill was exceptional! The owners were very nice, gave good recommendations for Anurapadhura New Town and where to go for food, and they helped us solving problems we encountered with contacting the airport. There's warm showers and the room was very clean and had aircon. 100% recommend!

Very warm and welcoming hosts who helped us plan the next couple of days with ease. We booked a safari through the homestay and we we're pleased with the price which included all logistics such as taxi, jeep, guide, entrance tickets, food, water. To top it off we were lucky enough to see leopards, an elephant and a sloth bear in Wilpattu national park. A truly memorable experience. They also provided bikes and helped with our plan to visit the old city the next day and helped with alternative accommodation because we'd only booked one night in advance. The room was basic but clean and tidy and what we expected. No problems with it and would stay again.

Absolutely gorgeous owners. We felt like home. Rooms are clean, water is warm, they help with organizing anything you need. Just TOP.
