“Fantasic hosts”

I had 2 nights here staying in one of the windowless rooms. A windowless room is no issue if you are wondering whether to book it as there are many places in the property you can sit outside if you don’t like spending time in a windowless room. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The family were lovely and helped us with every request. We had breakfast and dinner both days at the property, and the food was fantastic. Traditional Sri Lankan home cooked food, along with bottle of cooled water at each meal. Once we had finished they offered if I wanted any more. On the second night I had to say yes as the chicken curry was amazing. We had a day tour, booked through the family, with what seems to be a friend (he was great), who took us around the Ancient City of Anuradhapura (9:30 - 13:30). By night we were also taken to the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, it was beautiful and a very peaceful place - even though there were 100s of people praying, giving offerings and a sermon being conducted. There were also two gorgeous dogs at the property. Some people in the reviews have mentioned this as problem. The only reason I’d say it was a problem is if you didn’t like dogs, as they were such lovely happy animals. I think people forget this is a homestay not a hotel. Overall a really great stay.

“Great budget option”

Nice clean spacious room with a comfortable bed. The air conditioner has a fabulous comfort mode which made sleeping really easy. They were very kind to me and I got the impression they would help anyone that they could. It's a no frills guesthouse but is really very good at what it does!

The hotel is close to the new bus station and a few restaurants.

The breakfast/dining room is on the rooftop, great view and a good place to chill out. The room was comfortable and spacious, everything super clean. Very friendly and helpful owners. One of the lakes is very close by, nice for an evening walk.

First of all, it’s a very unique and charming place in the heart of Anuradhapura ! The decoration and the atmosphere are a perfect mix between nature and urban center. But mostly, what was truly incredible is the care of the owners for when I got sick. They even took me to the hospital, and visited me later on in the evening ! I felt always grateful towards the owners, who are genuine and caring! Thank you for everything ☆ If you are in Anuradhapura, definitely book a stay at their place, you will not regret !

The hosts are extremely nice an welcoming and offer advice on what to do and when to do it best. They helped us arrange a tuk tuk tour to mihintale which we enjoyed a lot and provided us with two bikes for the day to explore Anuradhapura on our own. They also helped us arrage a driver to trincomalee... in short you couldn't wish for nicer and more helpful hosts. The bed was really comfortable and the AC cooled down the room efficiently. They have a beautifully designed terrace and roof top as well as two very nice dogs. But if you are no doglover there is no need to worry. They are both well behaved and do not enter the guest space on their own.

“Nice little hotel in city center.”

Nice little hotel, had to walk up 4 flight of stairs. Rooms were clean. Airconditioning and hot water. There was a shared refrigerator. Hotel is naar the main road so you hear the traffic. The hostes was very nice.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful even giving us a cycle route to follow around the city. We loved the plants everywhere. Food was great too, especially the breakfast. Impressive views from roof terrace. If you want to stay in the new town. This is an excellent place to choose

The place is well located, just a short walk away from the bus stops and restaurants. I loved the greenery around the building. The hosts are building a restaurant of their own on a roof top overseeing the ancient city — I’m sure it’s going to be amazing when finished. Room itself was clean. Breakfast was good, I was pleasantly surprised that there were different traditional breakfasts each day (hoppers first day, curries second day). They asked if I needed more food, all was included in the price. The host recommended a guided tour of the sacred city in tuk tuk by his friend, which I highly recommend — the man was very kind and knowledgeable about the temples, monasteries and Buddhism overall.

Lovely owner, super helpful. She arranged tours for us with a driver/guide who was very knowledgeable and keen to share his culture with us, which we really appreciated. Room was lovely and super clean. Sat on the balcony in the evening, which was lovely. Loved all the plants up the stairs and on the terrace. Breakfasts were delicious. Would very much recommend.

“Family run hotel with a very special guided tour of the sacred city”

We stayed a night at Sacred City Tourist Resort and really enjoyed it there. The room was spacious, very clean and the beds were comfy. The hotel staff were very nice and hospitable, and they recommended us the best guided tour of the sacred city. Highly recommend visiting the sacred city with the recommended guide and doing the evening tour too.
