“Good for a budget traveller, lovely and helpful host.”

Good value for this price point. Basic furniture but our bed came with a mosquito net which was much needed. The host and his family were so lovely and friendly. The host also organised us transport to the property as well as a city tour via tuk tuk (at a good price). Food at the Homestay was tasty and they served us traditional Sri Lankan meals.

We had a wonderful stay at Lake House Homestay and would highly recommend it to anyone. The host kindly lent us two bikes, allowing us to enjoy a lovely trip to Anuradhapura. They even provided us with a list of all the places we could visit for free, which made our experience even better. We had such a great time and would gladly return anytime!

The family was so polite and nice. They were always helpful with any questions you had and they were happy to cook meals for you when requested. When you leave they even give you something as a goodluck and save travels. It was also great to meet other travellers because there was a common area.

Family who run it are very friendly and helpful. They have me good advice and information about the area and offer meals and bike rental. Their is a communal outside area where you can eat or chill. It is quite social and i had a meal together with some other travellers staying there.

The host, Fonseka, is the Man! He will arrange you everything you need with great price ;) the place is chilled, quite area, wonderful little garden, amazing meals. It’s simple, but the family who runs it give this place a special vibe :)

Most friendly welcoming hosts, who give a generous insight into what genuine Sri Lankan life is like. A nice place to meet other travellers but equally a place to shelter and recuperate alone if necessary.

Had a really good stay here! It is located a bit out of the center, but because of that it's nice and quiet. The family that lives/works here are very very kind and the food I got for breakfast and dinner was amazing!!

The Family at Lake House Homestay were AMAZING and made me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived. The host collected me from the bus stop and arranged a historic tour of Anuradhapura and a safari at Wilpattu National Park for a reasonable price. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner were delicious and plentiful and the hosts encouraged travellers to share a meal together and share their travelling stories. All in all a great stay!!

Very friendly owner family. They offer very good original Sri Lanka breakfast & dinner! Good Atmosphäre . They were very helpful with organisations to visit some spots with Tuktuk and a transfer to our next stay. Very good price !

“Anuradhapura paradise!”

Everything! Amazing stay with Fonseka and his family. The food was delicious, the hospitality amazing. There is not a thing that could be faulted. Even the cold showers were welcomed with the Sri Lankan heat. We organised a safari through Fonseka that was absolutely out of the world, highly recommend. Wonderful home stay x

Good quality accommodation set in a peaceful location. Although be aware that to get that peace you are a 15 minute tuk tuk ride away from the sites, railway and bus stations and the city centre. I had breakfast and dinner at the property both days and it was excellent especially the breakfast. Rooms are equipped with a mosquito net and by Sri Lankan standards (especially at this price point) the beds are comfortable. Well fitted bathroom although only a cold water shower, but there's nothing unusual about that in Sri Lanka.

Really nice people working at Lake House Homestay! I would definitely recommend a tuktuk tour through the free part via the stay. Breakfast was very good and the room was fine, it was really good value for money!

People are super friendly and help me a lot for planing the trip. Food is great! Nice social space for eating and meet people.
