I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the condition of the hotel room we stayed in on 20 th decmber 2025 at Heritage Hotel As this is a 4-star hotel, we expected a high standard of cleanliness and service. Unfortunately, the room did not meet these expectations. We experienced the following issues: No toothbrush was provided in the room 306 Towels, blanket, and bed sheets appeared used and not properly cleaned The bathroom had a strong unpleasant smell, especially when the toilet was flushed Overall hygiene and room maintenance were poor While we appreciate the gesture of offering cakes and buns as an apology, this was not the purpose of our stay. We chose your hotel expecting quality service, comfort, and proper standards, not temporary compensation for serious issues related to cleanliness and hygiene. These conditions caused significant discomfort and disappointment, and they do not reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. We kindly request that this matter be taken seriously and that appropriate corrective action be taken. We also expect a proper explanation and suitable resolution for this experience.

“Great place to stay for a few nights”

The hotel has a superb location beside the lake Thissa Wewa. Whilst it is close to the main historic sights, one needs to hire a tuktuk to get around: the hotel was fantastic in assisting with such arrangements. My room was quiet and comfortable.

Perfectly located right across from Thisa Wewa, the sunset views are absolutely magical. The hotel was very well maintained and clean, and the rooms were both cozy and spacious. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Would definitely come back!

Truly the best place to stay in Anuradhapura! The service was exceptional, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The highlight for us was definitely the stunning pool area, we spent hours relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. I also had a full-body massage at the Ayurvedic spa, and it was absolutely amazing, deeply soothing and refreshing. I’ve tried spa treatments in the Maldives and in other hotels, but this one truly stood out. It was better than any I’ve experienced before. A truly memorable experience. I’d love to come back and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Anuradhapura!

“Exceptional Service and a Comfortable Stay”

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, with comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and excellent service. Upon request, baby food is available from the hotel. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was also very clean. Baby cots are available, but you need to request them when booking the room. We look forward to staying at Heritage Hotel again during our future visits to Anuradhapura. A big thank you to the entire hotel staff for making our stay truly wonderful.

“One of the Best Stays in Anuradhapura”

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Anuradhapura. The front office staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms were nice, clean, tidy, and spacious, and the bathroom was also very clean. The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to get around and visit all the main attractions in Anuradhapura. We truly enjoyed our time here. It was a great hotel at a great price. We would definitely stay here again if we return.

The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, making our stay pleasant. The swimming pool was very nice, with a good outdoor bar nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers looking for a welcoming and luxurious home away from home.

I would like to thank the hotel staff for their excellent service, the view is great and the food is delicious. Our driver was also very well treated and i think it was a great value for the money paid.

It is a good hotel with very good rooms and very good food that I can recommend to others. The first thing to start with at Heritage was the guys at the reception who helped us a lot. Thanks to their help, we were able to manage our business in no time. Also, the bell boy helped us a lot.The restaurant staff was very friendly and welcoming.
