We really enjoyed our stay there. The room was beautiful, and waking up every morning with that view was wonderful. The Rooftop is fantastic Bed was comfy, breakfast and dinner delicious The staff was so helpful, helped us to arrange our scooter rental and also organised for us to go to the neighbours homestay to use their swimming pool.

“Would recommend”

The location is great. Not crowded outside, yet close to the city center. The staff is absolutely lovely and will help you with anything. There are some insects, but in Sri Lanka during the hot season that's what you can expect and it didn't bother us too much. We did the temple tour with their recommended tuktuk driver, would recommend 10/10. The bed was very comfortable and the room well air-conditioned, that's most important.

We had a wonderful time. The room 303 offers an amazing view to the rice fields. There is no growing time but instead you can watch many many birds - really beautiful. The owner and also the staff of the hotel are so lovely people. The smiled every time and fulfill every request we had, for example bicycles for our tour to the sacred city. The provide massage service which was one of the best massage I had in Sri Lanka. Of course the food was also good.

What a lovely hotel. We were given a lovely big white washed room with a very comfortable bread. Views were over a rice fields- very quiet and peaceful. We went for a really nice country walk first thing in the morning. The staff were lovely and very accomodating. They cooked us a delicious fried rice lunch and breakfast was good.

The people running this place are lovely. Very kind and helpful. All the meals were excellent especially freshly prepared breakfast. The view out over the rice fields is indeed lovely , with dawn especially beautiful as the mist rises. You can happily pass an hour or two just sitting in the balcony watching the light change.

“A superb guesthouse with amazing views, delicious meals and wonderful staff”

This family guesthouse must rate as our very best stay on our 6 week+ tour of Sri Lanka. The guesthouse has lovely views overlooking the paddy fields, has immaculately clean comfortable rooms, complete with AC, mosquito nets, and warm showers. We stayed here for four nights and opted for half board. The breakfasts and dinners were different each day, were freshly cooked/homemade and delicious. What also made this place so very special were the host and the very amazing staff, who were so helpful, attentive and engaging. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful and memorable, and we can highly recommend this guesthouse to any potential visitors to the area. 🙏 Gwynne & Christine

“Beautiful stay in the middle of rice fields.”

The beautiful nature around the stay and the lovely staff. Everyday we woke up looking at the sunrise over the rice fields, which was very magical. The rooms and beds were also very luxurious and much better then we expected considering the price.

“A little paradise”

This place really is Heaven upon rice fields! Even though it was off season and the family was in the midst’s of reconstruction and renovation the room they gave me was clean and had an amazing view! The house is just lovely and an eycatcher itself! The host and his wife go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable! Dinner is just amazing ( the best food I had in Sri Lanka so far! Complements to the chef, again). Day trips easily are arranged by the accommodations and renting a bike can also be done on a very short notice! I had a wonderful stay and can 100 percent recommend staying at “ heaven upon ricefields “ while you’re in the area! Thank you again for everything !

What a beautiful place! We really enjoyed the beautiful view from the room and the watch tower on the roof. Also, the food was SO good! We had dinner here every night because of it. Nice service. Very happy with the stay.
