We had a wonderful and memorable stay at Golden Residence, Anuradhapura. My family and I booked two rooms a couple of weeks ago and stayed for two nights. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and comfortable. The property is very family-friendly, and our children absolutely loved the peaceful environment. One of the best things about this place is its location — it is situated in a calm, quiet area, yet it is still very convenient, just a short drive from the town, sacred places, and other important locations in Anuradhapura. The rooms and surrounding areas were exceptionally clean, tidy, and well-maintained. It was clear that the owners take great pride in maintaining the property to a very high standard. The hospitality shown by the owners was truly outstanding. They treated us with great kindness, respect, and care throughout our stay. We were especially grateful because they generously allowed us to prepare Ashtapana in their kitchen for the Kanchuka Puja for Ruwanwelisaya. They were extremely supportive and accommodating, and thanks to their help, we were able to complete everything smoothly while keeping the kitchen clean and organised. In addition, the owners arranged a delicious dinner and breakfast for us upon request, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. We also highly appreciated the privacy we had during our stay, as we were never disturbed and could relax peacefully with our family. Overall, we had a very comfortable, relaxing, and pleasant experience at Golden Residence. It is budget-friendly, peaceful, well-maintained, and run by genuinely caring people. Without hesitation, we highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable family stay in Anuradhapura. It is truly one of the best places we have ever stayed in Sri Lanka.

We stayed at this hotel in Anuradhapura and had a truly wonderful experience. The owner was extremely helpful, kind, and exceptional in every way. Even though we are locals, we were treated with great respect and warmth—which is not always the case, as some places tend to prioritize foreigners. The property was very clean and well maintained. What made our stay even more meaningful was the opportunity they gave us to prepare Kiri Ahara to offer to the Supreme Buddha. The owner even picked fresh fruits from his own garden for us, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. They fully respected our privacy and never disturbed us, allowing us to have a peaceful and comfortable stay. We are truly grateful for the hospitality and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Anuradhapura.

Place is clean, cool, and comfortable. They are very kind and caring. Sri Lankan breakfast provided was very nice.

Villa with plenty of open spaces and garden, ample drive-in parking, situated in a quiet neighbourhood just off the main road. All fittings, furnishing and bath were neat and modern, matching description and pictures available at this website. Our double room was on the ground floor. Bed and bath linen was fresh and clean and the air-conditioning was excellent. Our wonderful hosts Samanta & Priyadarshani treated us to an excellent Sinhala breakfast at their home.

The room was located behind the house you can see in the photo, resembling a former stable or garage. It smelled of mold, which was also visible. The window couldn’t be opened because the room was in a very humid environment with lots of mosquitoes.

Very clean. Very helpful hosts. We had diner and breakfast that was really good. We could rent some bikes from the host to go visit the ancient city and temples.

Samentha and his wife were very friendly and super accommodating. We were traveling with a baby and they were so kind to hold her and play with her while we had breakfast and packed our things. We got the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, which was so delicious. The rooms were very clean and the court yard has a nice garden. The location is close by to major attractions like the temples. We had a pleasant stay and felt very welcomed at this home.

Location is excellent. Always, breakfast and tea or copy available at anytime with service from host. We reached late night but still host was waiting for us and also brought dinner from restaurant when delivery was late.

Good evening. The place is fantastic and with a garden full of nature. The room is large and clean but the thing I loved the most is the hospitality of the owners, two fantastic people including the daughter, they created a perfect and familiar environment filling us with food cooked directly in their kitchen, fantastic food. what else to say, just staying in this place was worth the whole holiday. Always grateful to these people and their humanity. I recommend it to everyone.

Extremely clean rooms, well maintained. They have provided separate indoor slippers. Hotel is in a large family owned land, so it does not feel crowded. Very friendly and helpful hosts, the hotel is a family owned business.
