I had a really great stay at this hotel 🤩 The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. From the moment I arrived, I received a very warm welcome and the service throughout my stay was excellent. The room was spacious and well equipped, with hot water, air conditioning and a mosquito net. There is also the possibility to do laundry. Breakfast was delicious and very generous, with fresh fruits, toast, eggs, and Sri Lankan specialties. The coffee was also very good. The location is ideal for visiting the historical sites of Anuradhapura. The owner is very helpful and happy to help organize visits and activities. He can also arrange transportation to other cities with a driver, which made traveling around much easier. I truly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel!!

The Golden Ray Villa was to as an excellent place to stay and take as one's starting place for the exploration of Anuradhapura's cultural heritage. Exceptionally friendly and helpful service in combination with nicely designed, clean, and modern yet cozy rooms make this an absolute recommendation. Upon our arrival, the Villa's owner made sure that we found our way to the hotel safely, even very late in the evening past the official check-in time. The breakfast, too, was excellent.

“Special find”

What a fabulous find. It is like a calm oasis . The family are super nice. We were welcomed with fresh brewed coffee and pancakes . Our room was huge and excellent air con. Comfy bed .Lovely big bathroom. Breakfast was beautiful and definatley our best so far. We have had 9 breakfasts here in Sri Lanka. We only booked one night due to our travel plans but its fairly easy area to get around the sacred sites by booking a driver. Not sure about tuk tuk. We would have stayed longer and taken more time in Anuradhapura as lots to see. We did see one guest returning on a bike so worth checking if this is a good option. It is excellent value for money. Evening you can eat in nearby cafe.

“Immaculately clean guest house and friendly, caring people”

The place is immaculately clean and the architecture is pleasantly modern. There are couches in the common area to relax and to socialise. The owner and staff were ever so kind. They went out of their way on many occasions to help smooth out my visit. It felt like I was visiting a caring family. The intercity buses can drop you at the intersection. I would definitely return if I were to go back to Anuradhapura.

Very sincere and accommodating hotel owner and personnel. The free bikes are a great touch and made exploring Anuradhapura very easy. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Four poster bed with mosquito nets. Value for money.

“Nice recommendable home stay”

Nice rooms, basic+ level. But they bring all you need for a night or couple of nights to visit the city. We haven’t used breakfast so no idea about that. Good value for money.

We had a lovely stay at Golden Ray Villa. The room was clean, had good AC, mosquito net and comfortable bed. We also had a balcony. The owner/ staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a pot of tea and some delicious pancakes. These pancakes are also included in the breakfast. We would definitely recommend getting the breakfast once you're there because it's very filling and delicious! It's a bit further to the centre of Anuradhapura, but a pick me will get you there quickly. There are, however, a few good restaurants/ resorts in walking distance where you can get dinner as well. We didn't really make a plan to explore the temples/ stupas in advance, and we decided that having a driver/ guide might be nicer/ more informative than driving our own tuk tuk. We asked the owner for advice and he asked his neighbour to drive us around all the sights. He visited some with us, and waited in the tuk tuk near others. He was also very knowledgeable so we learned a lot about the environment, culture and buddhism. :) We were also offered tea/coffee and lemon juice (very refreshing after a long day exploring), and they even did our laundry for free. Everyone was super friendly and helpful so we would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you so much for the lovely stay :)

What a lovely experience ! Staff were very kind and attentive, breakfast was amazing (great flavors and presentation). Rooms were clean and provided both a fan and air condition. Beds were comfortable and equipped with mosquito nets ( which we didn't need at this time as we paid attention when opening doors/windows).

A family run hotel that provided lovely personal service throughout our stay. Lovely rooms around a courtyard garden with a secluded area to sit and relax and enjoy their excellent freshly prepared breakfast My wife called it a haven for our stay in Anuradhapura. Great value and highly recommended
