I had a very pleasant and fullfilling stay for 4 nights. The owner and his compagnon were doing everything they could to make me feel comfortable and welcome. The room is basic, but you need nothing more when you plan to go out every day. I was given a different and delicious breakfast every morning. Big plus 🙏 I did a lot of biking for three days as the bike rental is only a 5 minute walk from the resort and offers a great price per day and, surprisingly, very well equiped bikes. I made my own biking routes with Google Maps and spotted many birds, i visited the area mainly for birding. I also rented the bike to ride around the ancient city all day and this was actually very convenient. For the birdlovers: The lakes in the area can be easily reached by bike and offers a jaw dropping bikeride on top of the dykes with the water on your side and the paddy rice fields, forests and temples on your other side. Could not have been a more beautifull scenery and birdwatching all around. Enjoy!

It was a great stay! The host is very pleasant. He is easy to communicate with, makes a delicious breakfast and has all the information you need for a nice trip into the city. The location is beautiful and best of all, he's able (against a very decent price) to take you on an unforgettable trip into the wild where you sleep in a treehouse, do a lot of great activities and get dinner made by his chef uncle, the best food we had in Sri Lanka! It was a true local experience, not a single tourist around, what made it really special and one of the best experiences we had!

“Nice place to stay away from the noise of the city.”
Sampath was really nice,we explained a lot of things and he offered us his services as a tourist guide for a nice price. We had our own tuk tuk so he came with us through the old city of Anuradhapura. The bed was very comfortable and the fan and the air conditioner worked very well.

“Exceptional hotel and fantastic host”
We had a wonderful budget-friendly stay in Anuradhapura! The room was clean and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the host, Sampath – he was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. He even helped us arrange transport and gave great local tips for exploring the ancient city. The peaceful surroundings and homely atmosphere made it a relaxing and memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, affordable stay in Anuradhapura!

The room was as depicted with a nice fan, mosquito nets and outdoor area to sit. The host organised a local meal and breakfast and was reachable via the phone if we needed anything else. It's definitely part of nature nice garden and bird noises.

“Beautiful and quiet nature stay outside of the city”
Very nice and clean room with adjacent bathroom. Room has also nice terrace with chair and table and beautiful garden view. Quiet and rural area. Very nice breakfast and lunch and dinner options. Friendly owner who has a lot of ideas.

“Peaceful solitude”
Comfortable, clean, well appointed and equipped room with good WiFi. Set amidst the forest 12km from town, it is extraordinarily quiet day and night. The genial host, Sampath, offers much and is eager to please.

We enjoyed our stay at the Forest Villa, mainly because of the very friendly host Sampath. He did his best to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. He was always willing to help us and meet our needs. He also organized a Wilpattu National Park full day safari for us for a very good price and it was really amazing! On our way back to the villa it was not a problem for him to stop to buy takeaway dinner or to stop at the shop. We rented bikes to us (for free), so we could move around the city. There was free filtered water at the villa. The breakfast was very nice, we also ordered an additional dinner (rice & curry) which was very tasty too. He gave us many tips and answered all our questions. He also helped us to rent a scooter. In the room there was both AC and a fan. We had a small terrace. We really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect stay to calm down. I just arrived in Sri Lanka to do my Vipassana course. I decided to stay there one night because its nearby. Best choice! 🙂
