Well what a super friendly welcome. The cabana was quirky but very clean and it was lovely to have the outside space. The pool is fabulous to cool off in and kept very clean The breakfasts and the lunch we had were delicious too. Highly recommend a stay here for Anuradhapura, both Pick Me and Uber worked well.

D Family Resort was a perfect local lodging to combine with 2 amazing days of historical architecture and locals immersed in their Buddhist practice. Cute family run hotel with interesting bungalows that had super balcony to sit out a sudden downpour perched amongst the tree level looking out of the rice fields. We were recommended a local tuk tuk driver and temple / rock walk tour for an unexpected sunset looking back all the way to the city of Anuradhapura. Something we’d never have known without this local suggestion. They also arranged for an enormous amount of clothes to be washed and returned quickly and great price from a local laundry. Overall, so helpful, great suggestions on making the most of the city and satisfying stay in this simple but unique accommodation!

Very friendly hosts, relaxing pool area, nice terrace in the cabins! Breakfast was good! Coffee in the cabins was quite nice too.

Very warm welcoming staff. Excellent price point and what you get for this is entirely satisfactory. Rice paddy fields next door make for an absolutely stunning sunset. Pool was a bonus, food was ok too.

We stayed in one of the Cabanas (we could enjoy breakfast & dinner on our terrace). The Cabanas itself are really nice (small kitchen, balcony & terrace). Helpful staff. Accommodation a bit tricky to find.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was wonderful! The service of the staff, the swimming pool and the food (we had dinner and breakfast) was absolutely amazing. The friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Room was big enough and nice to have an airco. We would definitely recommend this place!

“A great time”

We had a great time at d-family resort. We stayed in a double bed room which had a lookout over the area. Our hosts were wonderful and helped us wherever they could and welcomed us with a big smile every time. Breakfast was included, but you can also get dinner for normal prices. They aranged a day out in the city for us and a safari in Wilpattu NP. Our tuktuk driver, which they also arranged from the resort, was really nice and showed us around. Overall a really pleasant experience if you like to stay in a bit quieter part of town.
