“A great stay in an eco cabin with a fabulous pool”

We loved the property. We stayed in one of the fishermen’s cabins by the water. We were slightly worried as we’d read some negative reviews, but we were really impressed. The luggage situation is that you leave your car on a large car park and get a golf cart transfer to your cabin. This made sense as it kept the traffic on site to a minimum. We only found out the day before, through scouring the website, that golf carts were available to hire for the duration of your stay. This should have apparently been messaged to us before this but we received nothing so none were available when we got there. Having said this, the cabin was situated around 5 minutes walk from the pool area and 5 minutes from the restaurant so we didn’t need it. I should imagine if you had mobility problems this would have been problematic. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was really good. Service was slightly slow but wasn’t a major issue. The cabin was excellent. We had 3 large bedrooms all which had bathrooms and toilets. This was brilliant for a family of 5. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we loved the view in the morning. The living space was excellent and we loved the little balcony overlooking the water. There was enough equipment in the kitchen to cook for 5. The shop onsite has just enough for you to be able to make a meal and the trattoria sold fresh pastries and coffees from 7.30am which was perfect for our day trip to Ypres. We thought the site was in a great position to explore. The only problem we found was that we were really unsure about what to do with the waste. There were clear recycling instructions inside the cupboard door but we couldn’t find any recycling points around the site and there wasn’t anything that we could find to tell us where to put it. I tried looking on the website and phoned reception but there was no answer. Clearer instructions might be useful. This wasn’t a negative point—rather it would be useful for other customers.
