“Already missing it before we checked out!”

This was our first trip as a couple and it was even better than we imagined! Besides the beauty of the island, once we arrived to Quinta do Martelo, we were simply stunned! The attention to detail dedicated on each house, on the common areas, the areas inside the farm, the cleaniness, it is spot on! Perfect for people who wish to know more about the Azorean roots. Mr. Gilberto was awesome, the housekeeping staff were also great, even the gardeners! The attention from the staff trully makes you feel like you're home, just in the middle of the Atlantic. 5* rate to the bed matress, super comfortable! We checked out already thinking about when we were coming back. Our house was perfect (Casa dos Velhotes), super fresh since it was all with rock walls, super quiet. Even our 2 neighbours were so quiet we only saw them on the second day! (2 donkeys ehehe). Thank you all for acommodating us and for making us fall even more in love with your beautiful island! Our little rock house will forever stay in our hearts! Thank you for the beautiful memories!

It was an interesting and great experience. It helped us understand and learn about farm life in the Azores. Gilberto, the owner is very passionate about his concept and we enjoyed being there. The food was excellent and very filling.

Was surprised with the uniqueness of the resort. Breakfast was traditional Portuguese/ Azores fare.

A perfect stay at a unique property that allows one to experience the early island life, but still have modern conveniences. The property is very clean and well kept. The owner takes pride in his island heritage and this property allows you an immersive and educational experience without sacrificing amenities. Do not miss having some meals at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this property to all travelers.

They very very nice and accommodated all our needs it was just for one night and we were in and out fast hopefully next time we came we’ll make time to do the tour and end it a little more besides that it was wonderful we all them the whole house the wood work it was just beautiful thank you very much

“Must visit on Terceira! The best place!!!”

This is an amazing place, you must stay here if visiting Terceira! Whole village, including architectural, gastronomic, ethnographic and cultural evolution of the island of Terceira. You can see different handcraft workshops as they used to be, you can se farming, orchards, chicken, you sleep in different houses. At arrival you get a map and then you explore the village. It is amazing how every detail is made with affort. You are transported back in time, but keeping all the luxury of the modern times. Amazing breakfast and great traditional restaurant on site. Kind staff, nice rooms and pool. Top stay!!!!

Like old small houses, recreate old way of living but with modern facilities. The restaurante is amazing and we had the best diner in the island.

“Excentric but interesting”

A very nice place, but it has to state somewhere that this is almost like a museum from the Azores about 100 years ago. The rooms was very nice and clean. The owner is a bit excentric, but very nice and will try to help you with whatever you need :)

This is a truly charming and unusual place to stay, comprising very traditional renovated cottages and larger units, all authentically decorated in the style of rural Azorena home from the 19th or early 20th century. All accomplished with a great deal of care and affection. We also enjoyed a traditionall rural meal in the restaurant, featuring all local produce. The swimming pool, although only modestly promoted, was actually excellent. With the exception of the comments made below, all the staff were fantastic and the traditional breakfast was excellent.

Staying at this quinta is an experience in itself! everything is restored to feel like it was back in the day, but with modern touches like a pool and airconditioning. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was delicious and great service.

Totally not wat i was expecting! It was like living in an living historic farm! (Still had all the luxuries of modern livinng...no worries) great experience!

Accommodation like no other - you do not just stay at Terceira, but at Quinta do Martelo you also live through a bit of its history. We particularly liked the simple yet delicious breakfast, as well as fish at the restaurant. Recommended!

“Magical and astonishing”

Quinta do Martelo is a magical, astonishing place and Gilberto's attention to detail is sublime. The staff are warm, extremely friendly and helpful, particularly Paul and Gilberto himself. The pool is lovely, the setting is exceptionally peaceful with some lovely walks nearby, and the food was delicious. Angra do Heroismo is stunning.
