This is such a lovely and cosy place to stay in Andong. The owner is very helpful and friendly and even picked me up at the bus stop close to the property.

Everything was perfect. Room was very clean, bed comfortable. We were welcomed by home owner and her cute little dog. Localisation is also very good and with free parking spaces nearby. I fully recommend.

“A beatiful corean night - Sugi is a top host”

The Wolyeongchae is easy to reach by bus from andong station and it takes 30- 40 mins. two days before the arrival Sugy(the owner) sent to me all the info to reach the apt and the day I arrived I found her at the bus station welcoming me and my family....this was a surprise and was really appreciated! We booked 2 rooms and both were cosy and clean, the common area has everything you may need also to arrange a dinner or breakfast. We had the feeling to stay for one night in a real corean house and it was beatiful. The best thing is that Sugi attached in the common area a map of Andong with all the points of interest and the relevant bus schedules to reach them. Sugi also gave to me a precious insight: the hahoe village has a free luggage storage located near the ticket office and this is great if you have to leave andong the same day of your visit at hahoe village.

As a female solo traveler, this was by far the best stay I’ve had in Korea. The host is incredibly kind and thoughtful—she genuinely cares about her guests. She had preplanned tours for the surrounding sights, like how to visit Dosan Seowon and Hahoe Village using perfectly timed local buses. It made everything so easy and stress-free. The house is cozy and peaceful, and I felt completely safe and welcomed the entire time. She even waited for me to return from a night stroll to make sure I got back safely. It’s rare to find this level of care and hospitality. I left feeling truly cared for. Highly recommended!

“Traditional house away from the town centre”

As others have commented, the owner and her tiny dog are very welcoming; Sugi sent very helpful directions and additionally surprised us by meeting us at the bus stop near her house. She also had relevant bus lines and timetables available to help us get to several sights. We were the only guests in the small, traditional house, and it would have been a different experience if there had been others as there are shared spaces (open plan kitchen/dining/lounge). Everything was clean and the bed comfortable; we were even given an electric blanket. The house is a ten minutes bus ride away from the town centre, where there is a better choice of eateries as well as the bus stop from where one takes buses to all of the attractions. However, our neighbourhood had a little more charm, and we enjoyed the additional short bus ride across the river, especially at night when all of the bridges are brightly lit.

“Charming home stay with wonderful host”

Our host, Sugi, is wonderful. She sent excellent directions from the bus station and was there at the bus stop to meet us, in the dark and rain, to take us to her home. She gave us invaluable advice with regard to the sites of Andong, and the best way round to see everything. Our bedroom was lovely, and the house with its little courtyard garden was so welcoming. On our departure, Sugi even took us with our luggage to the bus stop! We cannot thank you enough, Sugi, for making our time in Andong so memorable!

Nice room in cute little guesthouse. The host Sugi is lovely. She welcomed us warmly and did everything possible to ensure that we enjoyed our brief stay with her, including taking time to research and advise us regarding onward travel.

Sugi is an extraordinary host. She made us feel very welcome and advised us very well on how to get to the places to visit. Plus on the last day we had to leave very early and she was there to say goodbye. The establishment is very quiet and tastefully decorated. We loved Sugi's little dog :-)
