“Exceptional stay in the Duoro.”

Our group of 9 were treated to a wonderful property with great facilities, an amazing view of the Duoro Valley and of course our fabulous host Victor.

The house is amazing and Victor (the host) is really friendly and supportive. The interiors are like a modern art museum with great views from every room in the villa.

The property is amazing. Everything you need for an awesome stay. The grounds are fantastic and very well maintained. The views from the property are breathtaking and the surroundings are very quiet.

“Incredible views and beautiful house next to Douro”

The views are incredible! Could sit there all day just looking at the hills and the Douro. It’s even better than the pictures. The views from the pool are spectacular and there is a nice sitting area on the other side of the house. The house is very nice and clean. Host Victor is very welcoming. It’s a 15 minute walk (up and downhill) to small village with bakery, cafe, restaurant, no tourists. Do hope we’ll be able to stay here again. Definitely recommend!

“A magical place to be experienced!”

What a magical place! The property is located in a stunning hill overseeing the Douro/ Vinho Verde Valley and Douro river. Victor was an incredible host. We were in contact for three months prior, to arrange places and things to do in the area. From Victor suggestions we did a local wine tour to Quinta da Covela, we had the most amazing food at Tasquinha do Fumo, we ventured to a small river close to the house and had chef Paula Gomes come cook for us for one night. She was excellent. The area itself didn’t feel overwhelmingly touristy. Very chill and laid back. The property was quite spacious, clean and functional with all the essential amenities, plus a 20 minute drive to big supermarkets or a 10 to local food stores. We were also allowed to use the fruits and herbs from Victor’s land. I was there to celebrate my 40th and when Victor found out he came to the villa to offer me two bottles of Espumante. Just next level hosting! To me this trip felt like a once in a lifetime kinda trip and you truly need to experience it to get it. Thank you Victor for being so affable and accommodating. Highly recommend it!

The home is truely unique and in an amazing location. It has everything for a country escape but is not too far from amenities. The host is also an amazing, nice and caring person who responds quickly.

“Best place to stay on the Douro”

As the other reviews point out, this place is fabulous. We had a group of 4 staying - although the villa could sleep 10 and it was one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need it was superb. Victor, the owner, was kind enough to meet us and show us around and helped us book a couple of great places to eat. Beds were comfy, the pool was great and the views spectacular. It's about an hours drive from Porto (@100 euros in a taxi) and Ancede village is about 15 mins walk away with a butcher, baker and general store, as well as a bar / restaurant which served great value food. Definitely recommend walking the Roman trail down to the lake and also a nature walk close by but it was the peace and tranquillity that stood out. This pace would be great for a family or small group of friends and we will be back!

“A slice of paradise.”

The pictures did not accurately reflect the property because it was 10x more beautiful and interesting than the pictures could convey. It was breath-taking. Nestled deep in the Douro Valley the view and the feeling is beyond words. The house and grounds were so interesting (full of unique art and an amazing sound system) and beautiful. Lemon, tangerine, orange and cherry trees in full bloom - there was a large platter with fresh picked fruit waiting for us when we arrived. Fresh herbs to cook with. The pool was perfect. The kitchen, fantastic. Victor was available throughout to answer any questions, and booked us the best restaurants. We are already talking about returning next year.
