Located in central Amsterdam, the boat hostel Vita Nova is 1 km from Central Station. It is next to the Nemo Scientific Centre, and offers free WiFi in public areas. The cabins at the Vita Nova boat are simply decorated and have carpeted floors. They all have heating, a hand basin with hot and cold water. The shared bathrooms are equipped with shower. Extra's include bed linen and towels. Guests can start their day with a typical Dutch breakfast, including a variety of bread, cheese, pastries, and coffee or tea. Also guests can make use of the shared fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery. Across the street, guests have a variety of restaurants, from Italian to Ethiopian. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of some of Amsterdam’s oldest and newest districts from the boat deck. A bicycle parking and a luggage storage space are also available. The boat is located at the end of the central canal ring, declared UNESCO World Heritage. The Damrak street and the Red Light District are just a 15-minute walk away.

“Danegerous, risky. Should not be operating until inspected and improved”
The toilet had a " shower " which was an adaptation on the wall with hardly any water pressure. The fitting collapsed there were no staff to tell so was not able to have a shower. The toilet lock got stuck and i was stuck in toilet for 20 mina. Lock very stiff There was literally no drain for the water apart from a worn away rusty hole in the ship wall.this is a serious health risk There was no stopl to help.me get onto my elevated bed. Was the only bed in the room. Had to ask another passenger to help me get onto the bed

Excellent location and verry accomodating staff. Very good choices for breakfast. Comfortable beds. Just keep in mind it is a cabin on a boat, so the space is small.

“Awful/ lying about central location as you book”
Nothing; as I book I always stay central. They advertise themselves as centrally located and then send a message it is a moving boat. Once it says central, you do not expect the boat to move 15km away from the booked location. Checked out after the first night.

the breakfast is great and rich. Pancake is very delicious. The location is absoutely great. It only takes about 5 minutes by free ferry to train central station. Very close to downtown, You can goto downtown by foot.
