“Terrible location”

Green and quiet location. We walked to the city center every day and it was a nice long walk.

Okay, the apartment was absolutely stunning, featuring modern furnishings and a spacious layout. The view from my room was breathtaking, offering a view of the city skyline at sunset. I appreciated the clear, prompt communication before my arrival, which facilitated a smooth check-in, especially since I arrived quite late in the evening.

Numa Amsterdam is a solid stay with a few character-building moments. There’s no staff on site, but messages were answered quickly, so at least someone’s watching the inbox. Bring your stair-climbing shoes because the workout is real and there’s no lift. (They call them stairs, but it's closer to a ladder). On the bright side, the room was mostly clean, the bed was comfy, and the heating worked very well (borderline sauna at times). If you’re okay with some quirks and a bit of cardio, it’s a decent place to crash in Amsterdam.

The apartment layout was great, it was very clean, and centrally located around shops, bars and restaurants.

The positive side about Numa Oosterpark is for sure the location. Located at one of the most colourful and vibrant neighbourhoods in Amsterdam and very close to the center and train station Muiderpoort.

“Dead mice in kitchen ventilator”

Upon arrival at the hotel with two young kids (6yo+1,5yo) & the relevant luggage (one big bag+stroller), the first thing that struck us was the steepness of the stairs outside the main door & the narrow & very steep staircase to the various floors. I'd say definitely hazardous, considering also we were given a room on the 3rd floor. The bathroom smelled of cigarettes, either from people smoking in it recently or from people smoking in other floors & ventilation communicating the air to our bathroom. Upon unpacking to settle in & put the kids to bed, a disturbing odour was emanating from the kitchenette. It wasn't immediately obvious what it was, but due to the disturbing smell, I insisted to investigate further & to my surprise found two small dead mice inside the kitchen ventilator grill opening. We immediately tried to contact the Numa staff, who were only to be contacted via WhatsApp & by text. To our great surprise the first response we got was 'we are sorry for the inconvenience, we'll fix this first thing in the morning', as if there was any way ANYONE would sleep in a room where dead mice are present (the sofa bed was in the same room as the kitchen). We of course insisted & told them we'd call Booking.com & only after this & at least 1 hour later & after we were forced to take pictures of the dead mice (included in the review), we were offered to move at another location of Numa. Grossed out by the experience so far, we decided to not take their offer, but look for other alternatives in the wider area, using our first night of only three rebooking our accommodation & moving to it instead of relaxing. It's inconceivable how a cleaning personnel misses the foul odour that we detected seconds upon arrival & doesn't report this to the property owner to quarantine & heavily disinfect the room. Oh and no refund yet, as they promised. A dreadful experience overall.
