We returned to Ikaros Suites in May 2026 after first staying here in 2023, and once again we were extremely impressed. The hotel combines authentic family hospitality with remarkable professionalism. The first impression is unforgettable thanks to the older gentleman of the family, who welcomes guests almost like a figure from a Nikos Kazantzakis novel — sunburnt skin, white hair shaped by the sea wind, a deep velvety voice, and the calm smile of someone who has spent a lifetime under the Cretan sun. One immediately feels this is not an anonymous hotel, but a genuine family project created with heart and soul. Our room on the second floor was spotless, modern, quiet, and equipped with everything one would expect from a very good four-star hotel: comfortable beds, minibar, flat-screen TV, tasteful decoration, and excellent cleanliness. We travel extensively worldwide and can honestly say the standard compares very favourably with many international four-star hotels. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh Greek specialities and very good coffee. The peaceful pool area is perfect for relaxing. The location is another major advantage: quiet and away from the main road, yet only a short walk from the beach and a few minutes by car from Heraklion, making it an excellent base for exploring Crete. We also returned for dinner at the end of our holiday and the restaurant was outstanding — excellent Greek cuisine, beautifully prepared dishes, and a very interesting wine selection. Another aspect we appreciated very much is the philosophy of the hotel. Despite offering a clear four-star level of comfort, the owners deliberately stay outside the official star-classification bureaucracy, allowing guests to enjoy excellent quality with more reasonable pricing and lower extra charges.

Great breakfast and tasty food in restaurant. Loved the pool area. Pool is not heated, in October water is rather cold but still warm in the nearby sea. Friendly stuff. Room was clean. Only 10-15min car ride from Heraklion centre.

The most beautiful place in Crete. It was our 4.time in Ikaros suites. We love this family business, their kitchen, their olive oil and amazing Ikaros vibe! Thank you and see you next year! 🤍

Our room had two balconies with an amazing sea view. The room itself was compact, not much storage for clothing but we were able to accommodate for the week. The whole property is maintained well and kept very clean. Staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. The food was delicious. Good location with just a short walk to shops and restaurants. Accessible for bus route to get into Heraklion.

A beautiful, very well designed property. Stylish decor throughout. The suites are modern in design and extremely clean and comfortable. Gorgeous pool area surrounded by luxurious beds, cushions and olive trees. Fabulous restaurant on site with an impressive menu. Standard of service from everyone at this family-run hotel was outstanding - very friendly and helpful. Location very good, only 2 minutes walk to the beach where there are some lovely tavernas, sunbeds etc, and only a few minutes to a supermarket, shops and restaurants. Only 15-20 minutes from Heraklion Airport and good transport into the city. Highly recommended.

It exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting us with planning our stay and even arranging an on-site car rental, which was affordable and hassle-free. The hotel’s design is beautiful, well-organized, and spotless. The pool area is calm and relaxing, and the breakfast was delicious, made with fresh, local products.Another big plus is the location, with convenient bus connections to the center of Heraklion and the airport. And of course, the beach is just steps away. This place truly made our vacation special, and we highly recommend it!

The staff and Owners where all very helpfully and very friendly and the location is very easy to get around and the beach is very close. The rooms are very spacious and lovely. We will hope to go back one day again

Clean, I had a top floor room so was fairly quiet, close to beach, restaurant downstairs was very good, staff always at hand.
