Overview
Castro Hotel lies in the middle of Amoudara, only 300 metres from the famous sandy beach. It features an outdoor pool with pool-side bar and plenty of sun-bathing space. We would like sincerely thank Castro hotel for another wonderful stay. Upon arrival, we received the room upgrade — we were truly pleasantly surprised and very grateful. The hotel is very clean, cozy, and quiet. This is not our first time coming back here, because this place has a truly special atmosphere. The staff is amazing — friendly, warm, and helpful, simply a refreshment for the soul. “Maxim Restaurant” — 10/10. Even though we had tried other places before, during this stay we wanted to eat only here. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, the prices are friendly, and the atmosphere is simply wonderful. A perfect place to escape from big city chaos and noise. The sea is only a few minutes away on foot. A big thanks to the owner and staff for the lovely farewell gift. We wish the entire wonderful team the greatest success ❤️ 100% recommended 👌

“Good value for money”
Good value for money; great public transport access to Heraklion old town, airport and even Rethymno; delicious meals at dinnertime at the hotel restaurant; beach only a few minutes away; staff was very friendly; nice pool area

“Excellent stay in a perfect hotel”
We arrived early, but our room was already prepared and waiting for us. The personnel was extremly friendly. We had breakfast and dinner payed, and we can not complain about neither the choice, nor the size of the portion (though we both have a very good appetite), so we didn't regret the half-board. The breakfast was buffet, and we could choose a 3-course dinner from a menu. The pool is adapt for both swimming and playing, and there was almost constant supervision, so everybody was toally safe. We could choose from several games (card, pickleball, checkers and billiard- this last one was not for free, though) outside the water, too. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day (except Sunday). The sea was close, and the city was easily accessible by bus nr. 1 that stops in front of the hotel.

Comfy bed, good sized room and bathroom. Good breakfast and enjoyed the bar by the pool. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. Walkable to lots of restaurants and shops and the beach

“Disapppointed and left early”
Swimming pool was decent and breakfast not bad. Parking was available on site . Nearby many restaurants and tavernas. Check in was quick and easy.

“Nice hotel with amazing restaurant and personnel”
Nice hotel. It's clean and comfortable. There is a balcony and air conditioning. The location is great, only 5-7 minutes from the beach, shops, and many restaurants. Bus stop is just near the hotel. The restaurant of this hotel is really great. The staff was positive, helpful, and welcoming. Will be glad to come back here in future
