“Small, perfectly designed boutique hotel that is managed with love”

This small boutique hotel has been built with huge amounts of love, care and attention to detail. It fits into the wild landscape that surrounds Chora very beautifully. Nikos and Alexia kindly met me at the port and brought me to their beautiful hotel which is 6km from Katapola. I was welcomed with a lovely herbal aperitif and a slice of Alexia’s delicious home-made cake. Nikos was very helpful with recommendations for visits, places to eat, and directions to/from the Chora itself. My bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept well on each of the six nights I stayed there. I had a superb balcony with views over the Kastro and down to the sea; it was always windy around Chora during my stay, but it didn’t stop me sitting outside with a glass of wine watching yet another glorious sunset over the next set of islands. Breakfast was a highlight and the scrambled eggs with tomato and capers the best ever! But also local cheese, plus Naxos Graviera, lovely bread, gorgeous yoghurt and dried fruits, as well as fresh fruits and the all-important good coffee and fresh orange juice. On my final day I did not have eggs, but instead enjoyed Alexia’s wonderful zucchini pie. Whilst I was there I chose to walk and/or take the bus everywhere, but were I to return which I hope to do, then I would be tempted to hire a car in order to see some of the island it was impossible for me to walk to. I truly loved staying here and cannot recommend it highly enough..

Nikos and Alexia make you feel welcome like you’re part of the family. They keep their lovely place in top-notch condition (Nikos is a perfectionist). It really is a labor of love for them. While Nikos makes the best eggs, Alexia is the queen of the home-baked cakes. This is absolutely the place to be when visiting Amorgos. Not a chance anyone does better! And it’s located in what is one of the most beautiful villages I’ve seen in my life.

Niko and Alexia were perfect hosts with amazing attention to detail from the moment you arrive and want you to have the best stay possible. They are very passionate about the island and provided plenty of tips for Amorgos. The rooms are very uniquely decorated in the local style and very comfy. The breakfast was a real highlight with lots of local products and homemade items made from ingredients from the garden. The property has incredible views over the Chora and the sea. Watching the sunset was magic! Staying here was an experience in itself.

One of the best hotels you can stay in, not only in Amorgos, but anywhere. An extraordinary accommodation experience befitting a magical island. Everything from the location to the cleanliness, from the amenities to the breakfast was flawless. But most importantly, the warm attention, kindness and friendliness we received from the family who run the hotel. And on top of that, great travel and food and drink recommendations! We fell like we have friends in Amorgos now. Greetings to the lucky people who will stay here and be the guests of Mr. Nikos and his family.

We had a fantastic stay at Vorina Ktismata. The location was great just a short walk in to Chora which was so beautiful. The views are amazing and it was so peaceful and quiet. Lots of choices for breakfast with some local organic products which was lovely. Nikos and his wife really went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. I would 💯 % recommend this hotel when visiting Amorgos.

The village of Chora is absolutely stunning and is a perfect base from which to explore the island. Nikos' place is perfectly located just beside the village and within a couple of minutes walking distance to the village attractions. Nikos was an exceptionally welcoming and generous host. He really made us feel like we were his guests (as opposed to just his customers), he gave us excellent tips and recommendations for Chora and the whole island, and the standards he keeps (cleanliness, breakfast, etc) are exceptional. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Vorina Ktismata and I could not rate it more highly.
