“Perfect little gîte in the heart of Ammerschwihr”

Very friendly relaxed owner. Only 5 mins walk to the main bus stop and beautiful views across the rooftops of Ammerschwihr. There was a heatwave when we went but the owner provided us with an aircon unit and fans to keep the place cool. Cot and highchair was provided for our toddler at no extra cost. Perfect little place to stay.

“A lovely and quirky apartment to explore the Alsace”

The apartment had everything we needed, from cooking equipment to plenty of towels, bed linen, cutlery, glassware, etc. and from a private parking space to a smart tv where we could log in to a streaming service and watch a tv show or two. Even soap, dish soap and washing machine tablets were provided. The host was very friendly, and we were able to communicate in our best French and his best German. We got a lovely bottle of wine from a neighbouring vineyard. For a light sleeper like me it’s nice that there are shutters in the main bedroom. The secondary bedroom also has blinders. There are plenty of restaurants and vineyards within walking distance. We absolutely recommend 3 Amsel. There are two bakeries within walking distance, which have good bread and pastries. There’s plenty to see and do in the area, such as trips to Colmar, Kaysersberg and Riquewihr. We very much enjoyed staying at Aux 6 Hirondelles.

“Comfortable and inviting gîte with an excellent host.”

Superb welcome by our host Stéphane who shared a bottle of the local (excellent) crémant d'Alsace with us just after arrival; it made us feel very welcome after a long journey. Stéphane is a font of relevant local knowledge and history. He recommended us some caves to try and buy Alsace wine. We also ended up dining the following evening at a very good restaurant he had suggested. The gîte is inviting and comfortable – we were only two people – and there's more than enough space for four. It's well located if you're thinking of visiting the villages in the vicinity of Colmar. The local hills such as Kaeferkopf and Kaysersberg offer some good trails for hiking.

The owner is so sweet. The location is perfect. The village is quiet and perfectly located. Local restaurants are great and reasonably priced. Arrived to a local festival. Well situated to entire region. Tons of wine tasting in the village. Walked around the town and found a storks nest with 2 storks in it!! Highly recommend.
