Nice to stay in a cozy home rather than a conventional chain hotel, and close to ISU campus. Nice decor, excellent room, well equipped.

The breakfast was great. The other guests were very nice. We enjoy staying at the Iowa House whenever we are in Ames.

Snack and beverage availability was great- 24hr access. The basement common room/game room was cozy with a nice selection of board games. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with good service.

“Very comfortable and homey. Great location. We enjoyed it.”
Room was a little bit shabby (chipped paint, dust on radiators, noisy air conditioner. Just a little dated--nothing major.
