“Pleasant stay in American River”
Quirky little spot in American River, with a nice stroll to the jetty/wharf. Place was clean however, the multiple little steps and ledges made it a bit challenging for my mum (74yo) to navigate through the house, but no big deal (we managed). The little deck was a great spot for a bbq dinner and to watch the sunset. Our only regret was that the oyster shack right next to the property was shut! Not the fault of the host, but as an oyster fanatic, I was pretty sad to see the oyster shack closed :(...

Loved the retro original decor. There was similar furniture and feeling of childhood memories. Well equipped cottage. Great communication from owner. Very comfortable & cosy. Lots of different spaces to chill out for meals, a cuppa or evening nibbles & drinks.

The location was perfect. Close to the water and jetty. Walking distance to PO and General Store where good coffee could be obtained.

Beautiful location, a few steps from the harbour and very fun retro interior in the cottage. Nice little garden,lots of space, great to have washing machine. Tony was very friendly, I booked very late but he accommodated easily.

The decor in the Anchorage was quirky and colourful. The property was well equipped and in a good location. I would definitely stay there again as I thought it was reasonably priced and value for money. Kangaroo Island is always a magnificent place to visit.

Nice cosy & spacious cottage. Had everything we needed.. lovely bathroom! Loved the fact there were heaters in every room as we wasn't expecting it to be cold.. Good location though American River itself didn't have much and couldn't really go to the beach there as muddy.

A comfortable, welcoming home with wonderful facilities, ( newly renovated bathroom and laundry and air-conditioning in bedroom ) a well appointed kitchen and a great central location! Outdoor seating and Barbeque facilities. A relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Lovely little roomy place to stay. Beware the bedroom door lock, and if wanting to go out to dinner book early! Or else walk 20 metres and stock up on oysters before they close mid afternoon. Loved our stay

This property was exceptional. Last minute was no issue- amenities were top of the range clean and comfy felt like a better version of home. Highly recommend!!!
