I cannot fault this property or the staff. Mark and the staff were incredible. I arrived very unwell and depleted and was immediately met with the most helpful and welcoming hospitality to ensure I was looked well looked after. Mark has great connections in Amed making my transition even smoother. As a solo female traveller, I am very independent but I truly felt I could settle here for a long time (so I extended). Mark was not just my host but became a big influence on my journey travelling Asia, and I am extremely grateful for his and his team’s hospitality. You will be very welcomed here and if you’re looking for a place to call home, this is it 🙏 Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view is beautiful, and the place is very calm and relaxing — we even ended up staying longer than planned! Mark and his wife gave us a very warm welcome and provided great advice for visits, transport, and other activities, which made our stay even better. They have great local connections and also recommended activities for our next destination, which was really helpful. The breakfasts are good, and the pool is very pleasant. Everything is there to ensure a truly enjoyable and comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place.

“An absolute gem”

Balty Bali was the highlight of my holiday. The room was so clean, tastefully decorated and included many thoughtful touches (towel rack/umbrella/torch/water/non-slip tiles in the wet areas & stairs), fab view. Mark & Inayah and their wonderful team were warm, helpful & generous with their time & knowledge. My morning hike with Mark (a born storyteller) was a treat. This place is a rare gem & I’m so grateful that I got to enjoy their hospitality. The drive to the airport was another brilliant day taking in interesting detours & waterfall adventures. In all my travels, Balty Bali is an absolute standout.

The hosts, Mark and Inaya, along with their three girls, were fantastic! We were impressed with their hospitality, friendship, and help with all our questions. If not them, our trip to Bali would not be so exciting, as they helped us to plan our trip, find and connect with people who could take us on an adventure, and recommend great local food and places, as well as plan a bit for our next trip. The days in Bali became much brighter with Mark and Inaya. The bed was very, very good, and the shower was good as well!

Everything was great! The villa was clean, comfortable, and very close to the beach. The breakfast that Sumi made was amazing, and Uncle Mark and Inayah were super kind and welcoming.

“Quiet, relaxing and near the beach.”

Balty Bali is back from the main road yet only 3 minutes walk to the beach. Inayah, Mark and Sumi were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. We could hire snorkel gear from them and they arranged sun lounges at the beach for us as well. Breakfast was substantial and tasty. And we could refill our water bottles from the water dispenser in our room. The snorkelling was lovely off the beach. Several times we saw turtles.

“Best accomodation in Bali”

Mark, his family and the staff create a magical atmosphere in this peaceful and relaxing homestay. They made us feel part of their daily life, helping us with the snorkeling stuff and all kind of things. The room was clean, silent and very well equipped (within a tiny private kitchen)

Mark is a very nice and welcoming host. The villa is well located close to the beach where we could enjoy snorkeling activities. Also Mark recommended us some incredibly nice spots to see the sunset while enjoying dinner. We absolutely recommend this place.

As a seasoned traveller across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, I can confidently say our 3-night stay at Pondok Wasati Balti Bali was exceptional. From pre-arrival to departure, Mark, Iliyah and the team demonstrated outstanding professionalism and communication, making our transition to this Amed oasis seamless. The room was spotless, spacious, and offered stunning 180° ocean views. Every comfort was considered: excellent air-con and fan, a full filtered water tank, strong Wi-Fi and tech setup (essential for my work), high-quality mattresses, consistent hot dumping showers, coffee/tea facilities, and a well-stocked, exceptionally reasonably priced minibar. On our first night, Mark went above and beyond to arrange transport and a venue for us to watch a niche Australian sports game, complete with a view of Mt Agung in the background. Further, Mark's restaurant recommendations were spot-on and varied. Breakfast was delivered right on time to our balcony, with delicious coffee, fresh fruit and sourdough bread baked by Iliyah our hostess herself. Truly a memorable and effortless stay. What resonated most for us at Pondok Wasati Balti was the genuine passion Mark, Iliyah, and the team demonstrate in creating the best possible experience for every guest. Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation—or both—they go above and beyond to tailor your stay, offering great support for activities like hiking, diving, or scooter tours at exceptionally fair prices. In three words: flawless, hospitable and fun!! We cannot wait to return!!!

“Water lover's delight.”

Perfect quiet getaway for those that love being in or on water. Mark and his wife made me feel very welcomed. He was extremely helpful organizing things I needed including boat trip and bike rides to Amed and Sunset Point. The beach is a few minutes walk away. I was expecting to have to swim far out to see coral and fish but it's within a few meters of the sand. I did a small boat trip and saw the Japanese warship wreck. I also saw 6 turtles at Lipah Beach, where this accommodation is located. I was lucky enough to time it that I joined Mark and his family for a traditional Metatah ceremony. What a privilege. Putri is tiny but gives great in room massage on a massage bed. I am a solo female traveler and felt very relaxed and at home here. I hired Mark to drive me back to Sanur and was invited to lunch before they headed off. The a revealing question when reviewing is "would you go back?". My answer is absolutely. I recommend 3 even 4 nights if you want a more quiet village feel of a stay. It's a water lovers delight. Tips. Wake up before dawn on a clear morning. You will see the fishing boats lights twinkling on the horizon. Enjoy the sunrise. Go to Sunset Point. Time it to see the sunset. The pan fried snapper was delicious. If Mark offers to take you up a bike / hike trip - say yes. It's a long trip so on the way up I hired a driver to do it as a tour with a couple of stops on the way.

A great place to stay for a few nights in Amed for those who value comfort. Very clean and aesthetic. Mineral water is included in the room. Comfortable bed, towels of various sizes, smelling clean. The bathroom has everything a guest might need. Terrace overlooking the sea, you can enjoy every sunrise. On the terrace there is a comfortable leisure sofa, a table for two, it is fun to have breakfast. Extremely good breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised. 10 minutes to the coral reef beach, where snorkeling is fun. I recommend the nearby warung Sabar, where you can taste high-quality fresh food.

Clean room with good lighting and two bedside lamps. Clean towels and sheets. Close to a beach and some restaurants. Easy to get around by scooter. Thank you for having us.
