“Mass tourism rip off”

- WiFi not working in tent despite full reception - Holes in mosquito net - Overcrowded buffet meals of low quality (meat was 80% inedible bones or fat) - Noisy (we were located close to the restaurant) - Assigned a room we didn’t book (family tent with 4 extra beds, despite booking a double room; wasn’t really an upgrade because what are we meant to do with all those extra beds) - Expensive extra charges for drinks at dinner - Dirty/stained sink - no tea / coffee in the room, despite a water kettle - Pure commercial focus: upon checkout we weren’t even asked how our stay was, just if we had settled any pending charges with the “cashier” - Mass tourism Overall very BAD VALUE for money, compared to other hotels we stayed at in Kenya. Disappointing. Very puzzled by the largely positive ratings.

Amazing hotel, food was great, lots of options. Rooms were nice and we could see the Kilimanjaro from the rooms. Great place to stay, highly recommend

The experience as a whole was great. Great accomodations, our tent is new and had all the things we needed. The staff was very attentive. Location is great, right at the gate of Amboseli Ntl Park, so you don't have to waste time moving for game drives.

Kibo Camp was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. It was a beautiful tented camp with great service. All the staff were delightful and we particularly enjoyed the pizza and massage. We will most definitely be back!

I arrived as a solo traveller making his own way there, which I gather is not very common. Most guests seem to be on tours or packages. The staff seemed to recognise this and made a real effort to make me feel welcome and cared for, which was lovely. The facilities were great, the place was clean, and the food in particular was excellent. Lots of variety in the buffet and great options for a vegetarian like myself.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the food was good with a lot of choice every day. The camp was very quiet at night and we managed to have a good rest.
