“A wonderful stay”

We stayed at the lodge for 9 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. The place is stunning, with beautiful gardens and a view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Everything is even more beautiful than in the pictures. The pool is huge and the bars are great. The restaurant serves excellent food, and you always find something you like. There are vegetarian options and a fish dish every day. Great salads made from locally produced vegetables, as well as soups and desserts. The lodge is perfect for a relaxing time between game drives. We had adjoining rooms, which was great. The rooms are clean and spacious. The best thing about the lodge is the people! Everyone on the staff was so friendly and kind, from the bar staff to the cleaners, the waiters, and the management. We celebrated my wife’s birthday, and they went above and beyond to make it her best birthday ever. On our last dinner, we were surprised with a song and a farewell cake, which made us feel so blessed and thankful. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Nice overall grounds - pool garden and bars

1st Time stay in Amboseli, great location of the lodge in the park. Nice rooms situated in lush green area with monkeys everywhere. Well assorted buffet for lunch, diner and breakfast.

Generous with food, easy access to the National Park. The property is clean and the staff are helpful. The room was very large and comfortable. Beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Having stayed in a range of hotels for my Kenyan Safari experiences, there are two things I particularly like about SOPA amboseli. The design of the compound formed by all the 80+ huts and facilities, and the food. These are arguably the most important things for a nice safari experience. The huts are large inside but looks modest from the outside, and it is amazing how they are separated from one another, and blend in with the nature in the garden. When it comes to the food, not only were we very happy about the diverse options for our arrival lunch, we realised it's different from meal to meal. We had a selection of fish and lamb and goat during our stay, all cooked really well, and a large selection of veg choices (and delicious). I would highly recommend Sopa and come again for my future safari.

“Luxury in the heart of nature”

This is a superb place. A beautiful lodge, with stunning views of Kilimanjaro. Staff are extremely professional, friendly and efficient. Food quality and range was excellent. The game drive was a real highlight - Wilson was able to find cheetahs and lions in addition to lions, hyenas and zebras. Lunch on the drive was the same quality as the food in the hotel, which was a real bonus. I felt absolutely at ease here, and felt that everything had been thought out for guests’ comfort. The waiters in Hemingway bar and the one close to the reception were very kind and nice, helpful and welcoming.

Food is buffet style with lots of options. Kids loved it. Swimming pool is great, not heated but worth the dip! Lodges are spacious and great hot water. Hemmingway Bar worth a visit to hear the stories from Emanuel. Monkeys and Meercats scuttling around the camp very funny.

“wonderful family experience!”

Staying at the Amboseli SOPA Lodge was a wonderful family experience! We chose to stay only one night as the hotel is quite far from the park entrance. Everything was perfect—from the warm welcome to the service—and the food was delicious. We really appreciated the full board option, and the evening by the fireplace with the Maasai performance was fantastic! We were traveling as a family with three teenagers and chose to have two nearby lodges, which were very well equipped. Many thanks to the entire team for your kindness and hospitality!
