“Beautiful hotel and food, upgrade your room!”

We loved everything about the stay, the food was unexpectedly amazing (and we were non veggies too) the house is beautiful, the staff were absolutely lovely. The walks around the location are amazing, 10/10

Excellent customer service! Good value for money. Good cleanliness level. Comfy beds, slept like a baby! Very tasty breakfast (nice selection, too)! Beautiful garden surrounding the property as well as the location itself! Loved it all! ❤️

Very friendly staff, close to nice walks and Ambleside only 15 min drive. Very much in the country as opposed to hustle and bustle. Breakfast was good, and the dinners very nice (even for non vegetarians we really enjoyed).

Very pleasant character filled old house set in beautiful garden. Tranquil, peaceful, rural. Excellent breakfast included. Clean and comfortable; all the usual requisites supplied. Very good.

The setting is simply gorgeous. There is a real sense of times past here. So lovely to experience. The evening meal was very good. We enjoyed the breakfast but not as much as the evening meal.The walk up to the tarn is a must. This was our first night in The Lake District. What an introduction.

It’s just unbelievable. Comfort everywhere, the welcome from the manager who showed us our incredible room. The property is so beautiful. Every chair is comfortable, it’s that kind of place.

Breakfast was good; you fill out a form the day before to choose your breakfast, and when you arrive at the dining room in the morning, it's prepared and served fresh. We had dinner out in Hawkshead, a half-hour walk away, as we needed supplies for the return journey. Wine and cheese by the fireplace was a lovely idea. It's close to hiking routes, with many destinations accessible by foot or bike. When we were late for check-out after our morning Tarn Hows bike tour, they didn't cause any problems; it's a hospitable and friendly place. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place.
