Overview
The Rothay Garth is a traditional Lakeland guest house with beautiful mountain views. Set in the heart of Ambleside village, The Rothay offers en suite rooms and free parking. Rooms all come with satellite TV’s and tea/coffee making facilities. Hearty breakfasts are served from 8:15 to 9:30 in the conservatory and packed lunches can be made to order. There is also a lounge area to relax in. The guest house has easy access to Ambleside and Lake Windermere is just a 10-minute walk away. Perfectly situated to discover the Lake District there are plenty of walks very close by.

Close proximity to everything we need to see. Great view from the rooms and great brkfst Being our anniversary they also supplied a bottle of Prosseco to celebrate.

Good sized family room with a double & single bed. Wardrobe, soft seats, tea making facilities - everything you'd need. Breakfast was hot & tasty with a nice variety. Well located for a walk around Ambleside.

“A friendly & comfortable stay”
Property clean & bed was comfortable, a fan was provided in the room which was helpful as it was quite warm the day we arrived. Breakfast was served really quickly & was perfect for me.

“Weather terrible but great holiday”
Very pleasant staff, excellent breakfast, very clean, excellent parking…which seems to be unusual in Ambleside….and a 5 minute walk to the centre of Ambleside and shops, restaurants, pubs etc

from the moment we got there the staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout, the breakfast was very good and the room was lovely although it could have done with air conditioning as it was quite a warm room

“Perfect”
Perfect location . Perfect rooms they were really clean and modern . The staff were lovely and the breakfast was unbelievable . A cooked to order hotel breakfast included in the cost , butchers meat was really really good . Definitely stay here again when we return to the lakes . The staff were amazing running the breakfast service both days of our stay . We will DEFIANTLY BE BACK

“Perfectly pleasant B&B in a good location”
Nice, simple B&B centrally located in Ambleside, which itself is centrally located in the Lake District. Staff were friendly, especially the young man serving breakfast who was working really hard to give everyone a good experience. Cooked breakfast was good. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere while I was there. Convenient parking on site.
