Set within the heart of the beautiful Lake District in the idyllic village of Ambleside, Melrose Guesthouse offers spacious rooms and is just 15 minutes’ walk from Lake Windermere. “A lovely relaxing stay.”
Perfect location. Bus terminal 2 minute walk from guest house. Best breakfast ever had in a guest house. Hosts very welcoming and accommodating. Room very clean and excellent shower. Room serviced daily.

The Host was very helpful in providing recommendations for local attractions and dining. As our unit was on the second floor they also provided help moving our luggage up and down which was also a relief.

“Joyful stay”
Location was excellent, central but off the main road so nice and quiet. Off road secure parking included in price. House is beautifully decorated loads of original features spotlessly clean great ambience. Room has quality furnishings with everything you need supplied, modern ensuite bathroom which was spotless. Breakfast was awesome we had smoked salmon with poached eggs and a full English with a pot of tea and juice, everything was expertly cooked and served. Overall this is the best guesthouse I've ever stayed in, a real joy, congratulations to Tracey and Kevin as their hard work is evident all around xx

Had an amazing stay here, staff are super nice and super accommodating. Nothing to fault, friendly faces. The breakfast was cooked to perfection, even catered for me being gluten free, all needs met. Place was spotless, definitely will be visiting again...

“Wonderful short stay at Melrose BnB”
Perfect location in the heart of Ambleside village and close to lots of walks, shops, cafe and restaurants. The hosts were very warm, welcoming and helpful. The property itself was clean, comfortable and cosy. Lovely hearty breakfast included!

“First Rate B&B”
Melrose is an excellent place to stay. It is comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. The hosts, Tracy and Kevin, do their best to make sure you have a lovely stay. the breakfast is outstandingly good. we would not hesitate to stay here again.
