High Grassings is an absolute gem of a B&B. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable, beautifully decorated and lovely well kept gardens outside. The suite we had booked had the most amazing views from the bedroom window where we sat and watched the world go by … and sheep, birds, cows and an amazing fox. Peaceful position but only a couple of miles from Hawkshead and an easy drive to Ambleside. Dave and Carrie were the friendliest of hosts and made us feel so welcome and at home. I asked for decaf tea in the morning at breakfast and when we got back to our room later on Carrie had left decaf teabags in the room. Dave even drove us to the pub to save us walking in the rain. The breakfast was first class and plenty of choice and fresh milk and coffee and tea for the bedroom with a mini bar with beers and soft drinks.

The location was perfect. Absolute stunning house and grounds. Dave the owner is an exceptional host and nothing is too much trouble. I had a couple of requests and he happily obliged making our stay even better. He gave us great advice with his knowledge of the area and we followed it and had a great time.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful view from the bedroom and a delicious breakfast. Quality of the room, especially the bathroom, was top notch. Also included a fan, which was useful for the hot weather during our stay!

Every part of this venue was amazing. The hosts were a particular joy and were very knowledgeable and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the views were beautiful.

The property has been beautifully refurbished with high quality finishes. It’s very homely and we were lucky to get a room. Breakfast was excellent. The view from the rooms is spectacular.

“A lovely, relaxing stay in a beautiful B&B with only 4 guest rooms so it feels even more exclusive!”

The view from our front facing room was incredible: rolling hills, trees, and a mountain in the distance. There were cheeky chickens that freely roamed the beautiful gardens, and we could hear a peacock (but we didn't see it). The room was a great size and the fixtures very plush. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. There were leather armchairs in front of the panoramic window so the view could be fully admired. The owners are lovely and very helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. The bathroom in our room doesn't have a door as it's a walled off area behind the bed. Perhaps that might bother some people. It's visually private though, so for a couple staying there...just switch on the TV or pop your headphones on! ;-) It wouldn't put us off re-booking that room. We've fallen for the place hook, line and sinker.

The cooked breakfast was very good. The owners were lovely people. 😀
