Overview
A 5-minute walk from Ambleside and a mile from Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, this charming guest house was originally 2 separate Victorian cottages. It specialises in home-cooked food and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Haven Cottage still retains traditional old features like wooden beams and feature fireplaces. Most rooms benefit from picturesque mountain views, and all feature a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is provided each morning, made with Cumberland sausage or vegetarian sausage, lightly smoked dry-cured bacon, and other locally sourced ingredients. A number of scenic walking routes start from Haven Cottage, and cycle storage is provided if guests wish to bring their bicycle. The market town of Keswick is a 20-minute drive away.

“Very relaxing break in a top quality B and B”
Beautifully presented Lakeland house very convenient for Ambleside. Great views over the fells from our bedroom which also had a veranda. Large bathroom with great selection of toiletries. Lovely dining room and guest lounge. Delicious breakfast, beautifully cooked with great selection of fresh ingredients. Very friendly and helpful owner.

“Fantastic and easy walk into Ambleside.”
The overall stay was amazing. Breakfast choice was excellent, and presented really well. The cottage had a lovely feel and atmosphere, and a really lovely lounge to use if you wanted to. The room was light and airy, and all tea coffee etc was available in the room, along with fresh milk. Also provided were shampoo and body wash.

The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre of Ambleside and some great restaurants and pubs. Haven Cottage itself is a beautiful B&B with welcoming hosts, stunning rooms and an exceptional breakfast.
