Ferndale Lodge, a family-run guest house, is placed only a few minutes’ stroll from the centre of the charming Lake District town of Ambleside. With free parking. Light, airy rooms each include tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a TV and shower room. Some rooms also enjoy splendid views over Ambleside. Now offering a room only basis giving you total flexibility, have a lie in, a late brunch or an early lunch and the opportunity to enjoy the Lake District from the early morning. The cruise boats on Lake Windermere are 10 minutes’ walk away, whilst scenic Rydal Water is a 2 mile-drive. Windermere town is 5 miles away, accessible by buses that stop 2 minutes walk from the Lodge. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all rooms and throughout the property. Dogs are only allowed in the specific pet friendly room type. The King size room is on the ground floor.

Staff are friendly and location of property is excellent. Size of room is just right for a couple. Beds were comfortable and appreciated 2 pillows per person.

“Great value”
Rob was friendly and helpful, and I was given a bigger room than expected which was a nice surprise. Clean and comfortable and a super convenient location for Ambleside centre and the bus station.

“Good budget option for a short break in Lake District”
Room was small in size but well appointed and well cleaned. Daily turn-down service was also good. Wi-fi signal was strong and speed good. Location-wise, it's very central and close to all amenities and restaurants.

“A central hotel in the middle of the town - near to a chip shop (The Cod Father) and main bus stop .”
I booked a "dog friendly" room - and the room met all expectations ... I had great privacy - with all facilities met ... I will certainly recommend this hotel - and hope to visit again.

Lovely, well presented and clean accommodation in a central location. We spent a wonderful few days here, and will definitely book again. Rob is a great host, and the guesthouse is quiet and peaceful.
