Overview
This family-run Ambleside bed and breakfast offers on-site parking £12, free Wi-Fi, and bedrooms, shower and king-size beds. There are scenic views over Wansfell and Loughrigg. Brathay Lodge was built around 1890 and is very well located for walkers, mountain bikers and golfers visiting the Lake District. Ambleside has many restaurants and bars offering different types of cuisine. Rooms at Brathay Lodge are spread over 4 floors, with access using stairs. Some rooms have Lakeland views and balconies. Fair trade tea and coffee with biscuits are available in the rooms. A continental buffet breakfast is served each morning in the warmly decorated dining room overlooking the garden. The bed and breakfast is close to the centre of Ambleside and scenic walks. Lake Windermere is about 10 minutes' walk away.

“Wonderful place to stay in delightful Ambleside”
We had a wonderful large room looking out to the greenery across the road. Fabulous bed and sitting area. It’s just a minute to the centre of the village. The continental breakfast was extensive - loved all the fruit. Staff were very helpful. Did some wonderful local short walks. Recommend the Fresher cafe just down the road for a lovely lunch.

Room very comfortable and unlike many hotels in the room were 2 seats for 2 people. Beds comfortable and hotel generally very clean with good toiletries and bathroom facilities. Good outside seating area and although breakfast was continental in style there was a very good selection of fruits, cold meats, salmon and cheese.
