Great location just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside. Spacious, clean apartment with stunning views of the Lakeland hills. Ethna is a lovely host and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay.

This was a fabulous place to stay. Warm, cozy and clean. The kitchen was well appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Ethna was a great host giving us plenty of information and help. Would definitely recommend.

The apartment is ideal for a couple wanting to be close to Ambleside centre. It is on a quiet side road up only a short hill from the town. The host was very pleasant and check-in and check-out went smoothly. We could unload/load luggage outside the property. The car parking space is 50m or so further up the hill.

Very clean, well thought through, a warm welcome, beautiful views of Ambleside and the surrounding area, and quiet.

Upon arrival, our immediate impressions were excellent. Ethna our lovely host greeted us straight away & assisted with our luggage & directions to the nearby private parking. Our apartment was absolutely beautifully decorated & very comfortable, with everything you could wish for a very pleasant stay. Everywhere within the apartment was wonderful & we also had exceptional views looking across to the fells, which was very pleasing with morning coffee, before heading off on a wonderful trail walk, recommended by our host. We had a wonderful relaxing time staying at Barnes Fell apartments & are already looking ahead to returning again very soon.

Was greeted by an amazing host, Ethna, helped & showed us to our room situated on the top floor. The apartment was immaculate, beautifully furnished, modern kitchen area, roll top bath & large corner power shower. Views were amazing, situated up a slight hill, but only minutes walk into Ambleside, which had plentiful bars/cafes/restaurants to choose from. Buses regular to visit other areas of the Lakes. Highly recommend Barnes Fell Apartments & cant wait to rebook.

Location superb for visiting Ambleside and surrounding areas. Once arrived and parked up we didnt need the car for local attractions as the centre of Ambleside is literally 1-2mins walk away. Very well laid out accommodation with everything thought of and added personal touch by an excellent host. We will definitely be back and it will be our first choice for accommodation in Ambleside.

“A great birthday stay”

We stayed in the Fairfield apartment. Clean, comfortable and well equipped for a short stay. Wonderful views from the large bay window (which provides wonderful natural light) or the breakfast bar when having your morning brew. Location is good with quick access to the village - either take the road, the 70 + steps or a sloped path - the choice is yours!! An attentive host who has a genuine interest in her guests; even got me a birthday card as this was the reason for our weekend away. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

It was in a great location; a very comfortable, light apartment and impeccably clean! The owner was attentive and very kind and friendly! So many walks were available from the doorstep, and of course the delights of Ambleside, just two minutes away from the quietest possible second floor apartment( with a view)!

We stayed in the Fairfield Apartment which was beautifully decorated, lots of natural light and extremely clean. The views were stunning. It was very well equipped with everything we needed and in a quiet location. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. It was a short walk into the centre of Ambleside where there are lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc. There is also a bus station close by if you wanted to explore the Lake District by bus. The private parking place was a bonus. Ethna, the host, was so very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Great communication from booking our stay to leaving. Thank you Ethna and Nick for making our stay so enjoyable we will definitely stay again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

“Central location”

The owners were perfect hosts. Extremely helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and bright well equipped with comfortable furniture. Good location close to amenities and you were rewarded with beautiful views after the steep climb to the property. The hosts allowed us to use their parking space because it was not possible to park outside the property.

Perfect little apartment for two of us to enjoy our stay in Ambleside. Great location, cosy apartment, and Ethna was a wonderful host. Our apartment was on the top floor so a few stairs but the view was definitely worth the short climb, and there are apartments on the lower floors. We had everything we needed, including an enthusiastic and warm welcome, and would absolutely stay again.
