Great venue, lots to see close by. Rooms were clean and tidy, bar and restaurant were great, good choice on food. Breakfast was top quality.

I stayed in a small but perfectly formed room. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved seeing the badgers at night, and the history that the inn is steeped in.

Excellent prompt breakfast service. The waiter very kindly agreed to swap mushrooms for an extra black pudding.

Clean and comfortable room. Ideally situated with easy access to lots of activities Staff provided amazing ideas when the weather turned bad and enjoyed every single one of them. Both breakfast and dinner options were good. Only shame was that we couldn't spot any badgers!

“2 days of total relaxation”

We were greeted by Kookie the resident collie. Such a cutie and so friendly. As such were the staff, every single person. They couldn't have been more friendly and chatty and always there when you needed help. The breakfast was amazing and you certainly didn't need anything else for the rest of the day until tea time. I was expecting a larger room. I had seen the photos so was a little disappointed. But the room was clean, tidy and in really totally functional. I knew they fed the badgers every night but I never thought I would be lucky enough to see badgers on both nights but excitedly I did. What a lovely place. One off my bucket list. Thank you guys. You were all lovely xxx

“Splendid”

Old traditional pub with a lot of history. 4-poster bed and a state of the art bathroom. For the badgers you really need a night sight - but I saw one live for the first time. Good pub food. Close to good walks and Wordsworth’s home (he stayed in Rydal much longer than Grasmere).

The staff, the food and drinks were very good. The Badger Bar is 400 years old and had a great authentic smell and feel to it. The room was large and quirky with decent facilities. Seeing badgers in the evening.

Bagder bar met all my expectations. Travelled alone to the Lake District without a car and wanted to find a place that was close to beautiful places. I couldn't have found a better hotel. Not only because it was close to everything I wanted but also because of all the fantastic staff, food and the cozy atmosphere. The room was so nice and the bed divine to sleep in. Will be more than happy to come back.
