The cottage location was very good. There was no trouble with street parking. The decoration in the cottage was good, except for the issues in the bathroom mentioned below. The wi-fi and the television were easy to operate .. not always the case in holiday rents. A bit more attention to detail, particularly in the bathroom and kitchen (more tea towels are needed if there is no dishwasher) and this cottage would be hard to fault

Very clean, flowers and wood for the wood burner. Easy to heat the property. Within walking distance to restaurants and the harbour. Would recommend The Shack and The Boathouse.

Flowers and wine were left for our arrival, which was totally unexpected. The location was perfect a quiet street but only a short walk to shops restaurants etc. The cottage itself was very comfortable and cosy. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and we will be back to enjoy another stay soon.

Melrose cottage is an excellent place to stay while Exploring Northumberland. Located a short walk from Amble’s main shopping street, very good pubs and restaurants, the harbour and the Sunday market, we had everything we needed. The house itself is super comfortable, warm, clean and equipped for all needs. Flowers and a bottle of wine were a lovely surprise on arrival. Communication with the owner was clear and timely. We plan to go back next time we head north. Highly recommended.
