On arrival we found the room to be clean but the ashtray on the balcony table had ash in it / table a little tiered

I recently had the pleasure of spending a few days at this magnificent hotel, and I cannot express enough how wonderful my stay was! The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Each meal was a delightful experience, with a variety of delicious dishes that catered to every taste. I found myself eagerly anticipating each dining experience. The hotel grounds are a true paradise. The gardens are beautifully maintained, providing a serene and tranquil atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. And the proximity to the stunning sea added an extra touch of magic to my stay. The sound of the waves and the breathtaking views were simply unforgettable. Excellent view! The sunsets were out of this world. Fairly new room, the beach was just amazing (if you go further, you will find mostly locals there which is nice and rare down the coast). The restaurant may be slow but the guys working there are great, I recommend trying crab-lobster soup.

“on the picturesque ocean”

La Kurumba Oceanfront Villa is one of my favourite places in Sri Lanka, home like. I arrived in the late evening around 23:00. Host Thilaka, a very beautiful woman and Sampath welcomed me with big smiles. Sampath opened all the lights in the beach area and at this late hour he offered to make me a fresh meal in his bar which is right on the beach, so he did. He is a great chef and always makes delicious meals. I was very lucky straight after my arrival to see a turtle which came to lay eggs while I was having my meal. Next mornings Sampath brought me murunga and other special local green leaves, I was having green herbal juice every morning. Everyone was very helpful here. Manager Shiwantha helped me with other things I needed in town and around, he explained how locals live. I was so happy to experience local life. The local people in Ambalangoda town very friendly. The other person from La Kurumba organised me a massage and aloe vera drink. And Thilaka was very helpful as well. The vibe here in villa La Kurumba is amazing: palm trees, ocean, beautiful sea side, amazing and very comfortable room with big, wall windows and sea view, few steps from room to the sea, garden with lots of comfortable spots to relax or work on a laptop..., food is amazing, everyday fresh seafood and other things, coconut water, tuk tuk, scooter taxi's drop off to the center of town if needed. This villa is great for small group of people or family. To hear the ocean sound while sleeping and waking up with it was my favorite part. I didn't want to leave. I felt at home. Very grateful.

“the most beautiful place in Ambalangoda”

La Kurumba is amazing place! View is incredible, territory is small but very nice and well-groomed. There are sunbeds on the beach. There’s a restaurant in the territory where you can order seafood and fresh juices. All furniture and technique in our room were new and stylish. Big windows make room luminous. There’s big bed in the room, shelf and all necessary stuff (iron and hair dryer). Stuff is very friendly, attentive and helpful, they can organize transfer or excursions for you.

The clean room overviewing a lush garden with ocean view. The staff is the most welcoming and friendly making you feel right at home. We enjoyed the fresh fish and the relaxed atmosphere. We definitely come back in the future.

The property has a beautiful beach access, and very quiet breach stretch. Lovely uninterrupted sunset view.

Well equipped room with view. Hard-working staff. It appears to be run by a local family and I'm happy to support them and the community. They are doing their best to keep the beach clean and are concerned about the future of the environment.

Good and friendly host, beach front spacious rooms with good amenities. Our stay was worth every penny. Enjoyed the beach and a small restaurant.
