My stay at Sea Crest was truly wonderful and comforting. It was the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with myself — I had peaceful time to read, write, think, relax, and fully enjoy the beautiful ocean views and soothing sea breeze. I am deeply grateful to the owners, Chathuri and Ishan, whose care, kindness, and genuine friendship went far beyond what you expect as a guest. They made me feel truly welcome, safe, and at home. Sea Crest is not just a place to stay, but a place to feel peace and warmth. I carry beautiful memories from this stay, and I sincerely hope to return to Sri Lanka again and again — and when I do, Sea Crest will always be my home. 💜🌊

“Well appointed beach side accommodation, with wonderful hosts.”

I would give this property 12 out of 10 if I could. The room was stunning, opening onto a terrace with view to the sea. The owners, Chathu and Isham, treated me like family. Chathu cooked me dinner (rice with curry — my choice) after I had asked her if she could recommend a restaurant! Breakfast was similarly delicious as was the next dinner and next breakfast. Isham offered to take me to a river safari (well worth it) and also a very old Buddhist temple that is currently being renovated. The warmth of my hosts was absolutely amazing. Totally, totally, recommend. The accommodation is a 10 minute walk / 2 minute Tuktuk from the town centre. So its quiet other than the waves lapping onto the beach

“Bad Experience — Booking Canceled Last Minute”

We were just a few miles away from the property when we received a last-minute call from the host saying our booking was canceled because the entire villa had been booked out. This was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional, especially since we had confirmed the reservation. Poor communication and zero reliability very disappointing experience.

“An oasis of peace and tranquility”

Chathu and Isham are very friendly and willingly advised and helped us with everything. We felt like we were visiting friends. The breakfasts were delicious and very rich. It was no problem to combine European cuisine with traditional Sri Lankan. The villa is right on the beach, which you have almost to yourself. An ideal place to relax and unwind.

I enjoyed my stay at Sea Crest Beach Villa a lot. The location ist incredible, you have the beach just in front of your window - and that's what I wanted. I was there in off season so the tide was quite high and the sea was ruff, there is not so much of a beach to walk on in front of the villa during that time - but to me, that didn't matter. I enjoyed so much being surrounded by the sound of waves the whole time. And I could rent a scooter for a very good rate and drive to other beaches near by. And during season, you have a beautiful beach just in front of your doorstep... Chathu and Ishan were incredibly friendly hosts and I felt very welcome and well taken care of the whole time. They were so warm and loving, it was just amazing. The food was delicious and plenty! it was also possible to have dinner, which was super delicious, so beautiful to sit right at the beach and it was also for a very good price. I would recommend going there and staying for a couple of days, renting a scooter to explore the area (Galle ist also just a short and beautiful drive from there) and just enjoying the incredible location and the loving care.

“Worst stay of our trip”

When we arrived at the hotel we were taken aback by the beaches beauty, however this didn't last long.

“Spacious family suite”

The family suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. You can hear the ocean from the room, which has a terrace that opens directly onto the beach. The lady who worked there was lovely and very helpful with everything we needed. Breakfast was generous, with a good variety of options. We only needed a place to stay for one night, and this guest house provided a clean room with basic amenities at good value.

The homestay was directly on the beach. Our room was very spacious, clean and we could see the ocean from our room. The breakfast was delicious with typical Sri Lankan specialties. We wanted to stay one night but prolonged it to a second night, we would even stayed longer but we had to get going.

“Wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful view and beach in a family like setting!”

We loved Chathu, the lady who owns the house with her husband! She is authentic, warm and caring and she and her husband made our stay wonderful (although they were busy constructing a new (big!) apartment in the building, which is nearly finished). Breakfast right in front of the room with our feet in the sand, marvelous! This is a quiet location with a beautiful broad sandy strip before you enter the (warm) sea water. With a tuktuk you can go easily to Hikkaduwa to grab a cappuccino or lunch and see the, at some parts, crowded beaches and the people who surf on the waves. Lovely place also!

“Excellent!”

Best place to stay on the west coast. Direcrky at the beach. Clean rooms, good shower, great wifi and excellent service. Highly recommended! Nice restaurant, I especially liked the grilled fish with salad. Free beach towels and bottled water.

The villa is right on the beach, the rooms are clean, you can enjoy excellent Sri Lankan cuisine, the breakfast is plentiful and very good. The owners and the entire team are extremely friendly and accommodating and are always on hand to help and advise. The warmth is unbeatable. If you want to spend a quiet holiday on a dream beach, this is the place for you.

“A beautiful private and super clean beach and amazing people”

Location. The most tranquil, white sand, beautiful beach and the accommodation is right at the beach or on the beach. The beach is super clean and there are no people at all. Almost your private beach. Staff and hosts are absolutely amazing, almost feels ‘homely’. Food is great too.

Excellent location. It’s right on the beach. Our room was on ground floor and the balcony door opened straight to the beach. The beach is very less crowded and you can chill and relax with your loved one without any disturbance. The owners (Chathu and Ishaan) are very cordial and they helped us with everything. They also gave me their Kayak and I had a good fun taking kayak to the ocean. Breakfast is hugeeee and delicious. Wi-fi : is Available. The router was located just outside our room and we enjoyed strong wifi even on beach. 10/10. Totally recommended of you are looking for a serene beach villa with an extremely helpful owners and staff. Rooms: Spacious and cleaned. They provide electric kettle and 3-4 towels in room. Safety: Totally safe. Staff is very helpful. It feels like home. Walkability: 1 km from Ambalangoda bus stand and market. Zero metres from beach 😃 Food & drinks: Delicious and hugeee breakfast. There is a lot of variety and it seems you are having brunch (breakfast + lunch). Mrs.Chathu was so kind. She arranged fish and eggs for my wife on request.

“Amazing hospitality and beautiful location”

Just gorgeous. The husband and wife who run it are beyond lovely. The hotel is a little outside of town, but it’s on an almost private beach which is perfect - plus there is nothing to see/do in town. Amazing hospitality. Beautiful room overlooking the sea. We saw the most stunning sunset EVER!
