Host is very friendly. Very good breakfast. Huge room with a very very good mattress. A few steps from the beach where you can get a free sunbed. Good table with chairs inside to work. Outside seating area with chairs! Very clean! Absolutely amazing !

Its really a nice, clean and big appartement with well equiped kitchen and nice balcony. The view from the balcony is really beautiful direct to the sea. Very near to the beautiful beach, just 1 minute walking distance. Its really a beautiful and clean beach we had ever seen in Sri-Lanka. So Friendly neighbourhood Very close to Ambalangoda centre, we could reach centre by just walking, so near to kells supermarket. The breakfast is so delicious. We had expérienced wonderlful and warm welcome, we reached late to the train station and the son of the owner of this hôtel he came to the train station to pick-up us by their car without any charge. We forgot to take our one bag and left it in the train and went out from the train but the owner and his son helped us to find back my bag to the another train station. Its a lovely, kind and so friendly family, they are always ready to help for everything. They did everything to make comfortable our stay. We had really wonderful and mémorable moments at this hôtel, we will come back again defenetly. High quality of price, we recommended highly this hôtel in Ambalangoda. Thanks to this nice family for everything.

We stayed at the Neem Tree for the first half of the February '25. And I want to say that it was probably most charming experience of the rest abroad. First of all because of the family who manages the guest house. They are lovely! I have so many thanks to them for their care and responsiveness! But okay, maybe it was something personal, so I say only facts about the guest house: our apartment was clean, toilet and shower was clean too, water heater worked well. Furniture and appliances were not brand new, but in a good condition, everything worked well. Conditioner worked well, too. Bed was big (200*210cm or something) any sturdy, mattress was exactly what I love: flat and even, medium-soft, it was obviously near to a brand new condition or of a really good quality, I slept very well. Pillows were good, too: no lumps or clots, or something, were felt like brand new or close to that. Bed lining and towels was in a good condition and clean. Location of the guest house is very convenient: - 1 minute walk to a beach, beach itself is really good - 1 minute walk to the beach restaurants (there are 2 of them, and they are pretty decent, bit pricey by standards of Lanka, but cousin is good, everything we ate were yummy, and I'm sure they work hard to cook the way non-lankians used to: it's not spicy at all, so the cuisine is great for those who can't eat spicy hot dishes) - 5-7 minutes walk to a local supermarket, were you can buy all basic goods you need: bottled water, vegs, meat, chicken, groceries, semi-finished food, freshly backed pizza, sandwiches and so on - 15 minutes walk to a bus and train station Conclusion: I don't want to say that it's absolutely perfect place, but we don't have absolute perfection in the world))) I want to say that I absolutely do recommend the guest house to stay. The comfort, the location, the way they treat you, the soul of the place - I loved it! As for me it's 10 out of 10. ❤️

Very good location, clean and tidy. Very helpful owner, who repaired some minor damage on our tuktuk for free. Nice breakfast.

Close to the beach, mask making places, and a normal supermarket.

in fact it is not in front of the beach, but only couple minutes walk to the beach. my room had a fridge, fan and air-conditioner. the second floor has a balcony and perhaps nicer view then the first. if you want to open door outside, be ready having some mosquitos in the room next night, but you can ask for a mosquito net. when squirrel broke my air conditioner, the host repaired it next day, also he helped me rent a motorbike. on the way to the beach there is a café with a very good fish dishes. a big supermarket is only 5 minutes to walk beach is wide and clean, but waves may be high depends on the wind. if you going to pay in rupees, be ready to be asked to pay in a market rates - it means 20% more, than state rate.

“Great stay”

The apartment is very spacious and clean. Mine was on the first floor with a beautiful sea view and a terrace. The ones on the ground floor have a terrace with garden view. I had my own kitchen and a big bathroom. Everything worked perfectly air conditioner, hot water, WiFi. It’s less than 2 minutes walk to a beautiful beach, 5 minutes to a big supermarket. The beach is amazing, locals are very king and look after foreigners. The place feels safe. Neem tree is quiet and peaceful, very well suited for longer stays. It offers a lot of privacy as you get the whole apartment to yourself, but at the same time the owners are close by. They are amazing people who were extremely king and helpful throughout my stay and did everything to make it great. They organise long tours around Sri Lanka, as well as shorter tours around the area, like mangrove boat tour, visits to turtle farm, moonstone mines, mosque, temples, Galle Fort, etc… They also arranged a transfer to the airport. I had breakfast, lunch and diner a few times which were delicious. Kallu the guy with dreadlocks sells very tasty coconuts on the beach. He also rents out very reasonably priced sunbeds. I’ll happily stay at Neem Tree again and I highly recommend it.
